The tape clarity and the balance of the two guitars is quite stunning... for an amateur recording made from the pit in 1973 of course!

We should all thank Luciferburns at DIme for sharing this gem... and enabling the Jap bootleggers to make a decent month of October! grinning smiley

Another guy at Dime provided some press clippings which will make a perfect artwork. A free tape plus some pre-made artwork, ain't it good to be a bootlegger in 2014!
For the front cover they just gonna have to find a nice pic of Mick... taken in 1969 70 or 75! >grinning smiley<

This is the material for the future 12 Jap boots that won't fail to appear later this month! Like I said : a free tape PLUS free elements of artwork, ain't it great to be a Jap bootlegger these days. >grinning smiley<

And this version of GS is interesting : Taylor refreshes the arrangement by playing some "jaguar roars" with his wah pedal during the Richards/Keys intro.

Taylor did it again at the 1st Wembley show (Sept.7) but not in Cologne (I checked).

It's actually the same tape that was released as DAC-072, EXM-008A/B and SODD 060-61 but possibly from a lower generation copy and without the horrible bootleggers remastering.

I really don't think so :

it can't be the one used by DAC as it's MUCH clearer and taped from a much closer position.
It's close to the OBR tape but there's none of the ugly screams that mar the 1st verse of GS... Plus it runs at the right speed while the OBR runs too fast.

listen to the screaming guy right at the beginning of brown sugar. it must be the DAC tape, unfortunately.

The speed can be adjusted so that is no indication. It's the drastical bootleggers remastering/compression that make it sound different. Listen to markers like tapeslurs (for instance in Angie during the "Angie, I still love you baby"line). Same tape, different mastering.

It's hard to argue with the almight Falo...

Plus I just noticed the mike noise at the beginning of Mr. D is on the HB tape and the DAC boot.
Mea culpa! grinning smiley

Chris :
imo the HB torrent sounds very nice, very "live".
Now take the DAC boot, give it the EQ treatment it deserves (it sounds vrey dull and muddy) and you get sth that sounds nice too.

Voila! grinning smiley

come on, cool down ;-)

I only listened to the beginning of the concert but there was no doubt.
too bad, but a 3rd tape of one of the same show is a horrible thought when you still have some missing ones on that tour.

Thanks for sharing. Nice to see something different. Agree that this is definitely the same recording as the DAC release and different to the OBR release. There is also a supposed low gen version of the DAC recording but this is better than that or DAC. I think DAC overdid it with their EQ but they undoubtedly had a worse generation recording to work with.

I like the live versions of some of the Goat's Head Soup songs. They have an edge lacking from the studio versions. Love the jams on 100 Years Ago and Heartbreaker.

Thanks guys, listening to this as we speak. Recovering nicely thank you, the problem was the right carotid artery which was 90%(!) blocked. Had the operation to clean that out, at home now, slowly playing guitar so everything should be OK.
