I have 2 of these . I use 1 to store my Stones cds . The other is new in the original packaging . I like to collect items that were distributed to retailers as merchandising tools .

Anyone else got these types of items ? Love to see them .

Yes, straycat it is indeed a boot.

Boston2006, I have about 150 shop displays (inc the Circus one you posted).... I will post some over the weekend. The big ones are a pain to photo though so I will probably start small.

Thanks , that will be interesting viewing .

In regards to the R & R Circus LP as mattleeuk stated it is a boot but I still wouldn't mind owning a copy at the right price ..

mmmh... since the Circus came out officially on CD, this LP should be considered a counterfeit rather than a boot.

Its a pretty rare record, not sure how many....but it always commands a good price. Have seen them anywhere from around $300 to $1,000 USD--depending on condition.

I have that edition, too, although yours looks like a nice copy...Your sleeve is WAY nicer than mine, but my record may be a scant bit better. JR PS Just scored an AMAZING collection of first edition Boot vinyl. Will be auctioning them off on ebay...Some are already up, but its going to take several days to get them all listed.

Here is a detail of the Alt Big Hits cover.

Its a thin, matte paper stock (no gloss), identical in feel to the cover of the "smoothe matte paper stock used for the 1st US LP covers. Not the texture stock (accompanying the FFRR copies), but the matte one. I think likely made by mistake and quickly pulled from circulation. Still, I wonder how many were printed...

Congrats for finding that one, beautiful piece.

Is it possible that it was originally meant for the unreleased "Could You Walk on Water"? (even though the cat. number is on front)... or am I way off?

Cool!!!

It's a gatefold cover???

Thanks for showing here this rarity.

yes, gatefold,--pretty much the same as the other one, just the different paper stock.

Best,

Stefaan, have a look at popsike.com and you'll see that meanwhile 23 copies showed up during the last 4 years at ebay. So there are a lot of copies around. Price varies from 64 to 421 GBP (which is imho too much)

Here my copy, which was a bargain for 40 DM at a record fair mid 90's (now round about 20 Euro)
