Yes, straycat it is indeed a boot.
Boston2006, I have about 150 shop displays (inc the Circus one you posted).... I will post some over the weekend. The big ones are a pain to photo though so I will probably start small.

Thanks , that will be interesting viewing .
In regards to the R & R Circus LP as mattleeuk stated it is a boot but I still wouldn't mind owning a copy at the right price ..

I have 2 of these . I use 1 to store my Stones cds . The other is new in the original packaging . I like to collect items that were distributed to retailers as merchandising tools .
Anyone else got these types of items ? Love to see them .

Ultra-rare "Flowers" LP (US) has no outer cover and also no disc inside:
I have that edition, too, although yours looks like a nice copy...Your sleeve is WAY nicer than mine, but my record may be a scant bit better. JR PS Just scored an AMAZING collection of first edition Boot vinyl. Will be auctioning them off on ebay...Some are already up, but its going to take several days to get them all listed.
Stefaan, have a look at popsike.com and you'll see that meanwhile 23 copies showed up during the last 4 years at ebay. So there are a lot of copies around. Price varies from 64 to 421 GBP (which is imho too much)Quote

Here is a detail of the Alt Big Hits cover.
Its a thin, matte paper stock (no gloss), identical in feel to the cover of the "smoothe matte paper stock used for the 1st US LP covers. Not the texture stock (accompanying the FFRR copies), but the matte one. I think likely made by mistake and quickly pulled from circulation. Still, I wonder how many were printed...
