'ello all ...
sooo glad I found you lot !!!
quick question re: the original Lurch release of "Live'r than you'll ever be".
I have a copy (unfortunetly the sleeve came to me water damaged, not too
bad) ... the matrix from the stamp (after run off groove) has the Lurch
matrix number ... so I know it was at least stamped from those plates.
the label on the record is red ... plain black type: "lurch"
does anyone know if this could possibly be a first run ?
... if so what if any value ( yea, the water damage brings it down) ?
I bought it about 20 yrs ago for, I think $20.
I know the "T.M.O.Q" are a second run.
I'd post a foto but my Lp's are in storage as I'm in-between places but
maybe I can get to it tmrw.
thnxs ... and peace be on ya' !

A general question: I got the Trident Mixes on lp. I know which version and what it is worth according to Dieter Hoffmann's black book. But: It had no track listing on the record itself and therefore I convinced my (now) wife to calligraph the songs on the round yellow (RS Records imitation) label. Is that killing any resale or whatever?
By the way, I remember a mid-80s comment in a music paper (Germany) stating that the cd will destroy the vinyl lp but will still have a market in the bootleg business. First thing I recognized on my next record fair, all the vinyls had been gone - replaced by cds and a tripled price...

Hi JJHMICK,
I'm not sure, which version of the Trident Mixes you have. My has not only on the back-cover the titles, but also on the labels of the colored vinyl, see the photos.
In my opinion any additional writings onto a record and / or sleeve will probably affect a resale, I would hesitate to buy an item which is "manipulated" with extra writings (but it depends from collector to collector and the grade of writings and possibly also if it is a Bootleg or not and how rare an item is at least :-)
