...and another...I think Charlie sometimes purposely signed in the dark areas just to mess with a fans head.

Here's a fairly rare photo of The Stones officially opening McCormicks Music Shop in Glasgow, February 1963.

Thanks ROLLINGSTONE, cannot remember having seen this before!
Brian's displaying a very nice guitar!!
Are you sure about the date, though?
On a lesser note, I think the name is McCormack's.

You're right Stranger, it is McCormacks and I should have known better 'cos years ago I used to play football with Neil, a member of the owning family.
With regards the date I can't be 100% sure as I'm only citing it from today's Evening Times who published the picture in their 'On This Day' memories section. I may drop McCormacks an e-mail for clarification.

Thanks ROLLINGSTONE, I just looked it up at the "Evening Times" homepage.

I am having my doubts, because the Stones hardly left the Greater London Area in the first half of 63, they were in Glasgow in Mid-January of 64.

Anyone knows when their deal with Vox started?
Although the pic does not imply a 100% for sure that they're having a deal with Vox

The agreement with Vox was signed on Aug. 9 , 1963. Stu drove the boys to Jennings Music in Dartford and they made the first promo shooting.

Silkcut, ref. to this BB acetate, does it include different versions? Is the SFTD side or the other one?

Best,

Just a weird US single coupling different cat.#s and pattern for each side... if there are other fans of errors or oddities of this kind on 7"s, please let me know...

Here is a misprinted Exile On Main Street...note the upside down printing, making the lips logo look like a national distress signal...Love this one...

I have lots of singles with the same title printed on both sides of the label, and many unpressed label singles..

A reverse tongue from the US,

a white tongue from Germany...

German mispressing of 7" Miss You, with only the tounge (and no black lines around) - this is A-side and B-side (which is the normal one) of the single.

Question about German discography.

The second album ROLLING STONES no.2 - SLK.16325.P - stereo - issued January 65 exists in winered gold label? or the only label existing is the red and black one?

second question:

OUT OF OUR HEADS - does it exist the MONO version BLK.16363.P ?

Thanks for clarifying.

Tks JR; I checked in the Schwarzbuch but they're not reported.
It looks me strange that in 1965 Germany already issued red labels with the Black/White Decca logo.

To explain better: I wonder the reason why Germany has issued a Stereo No.2 with red label in first half of 1965 and, later, end of 1965, the Stereo OOOH with winered label.

So, I have the feeling that, maybe, a Stereo No.2 winered could exist, although I've never seen it.

I am sure it does, as I have as far up as Big Hits and After-math on the wine-red label.

John, you found the MONO Nr. 2 and the STEREO OOOH.

What I'm asking for is the opposite: STEREO Nr. 2 and MONO OOOH, both winered.

The shop is called McCormack's now, but I worked beside a nephew of the owner and have met the uncle in the shop with him. The nephew's name is Sandy MacCormick!

A copy of the photograph is still on display in the shop (which has moved to a different location in Glasgow since it was taken).
