I thought he worshiped at the Stone Roses alter and the Jam too. Strange he would leave them out.

Besides the SEX PISTOLS (which should say THE CLASH for one to be accurate) he has a pretty good list. Why would he list a band (Sex Pistols) that were a no talent clown - joke act with their 15 minutes + 1 extra minute of fame? Strange..... Stone Roses should replace the La's.....

Agreed. Especialy with The Stone Roses. He has always cited them as being one of the BIG influences.

The rest of the list reads as I expected. I have read before that he is a big fan of the 1960's era Bee Gees.

I don't know about you, but MY top 10 lists tend to change almost weekly. So I don't think anyone should take these too seriously...

Talking of which...I was actually chatting to Ian Brown of the Stone Roses earlier this evening at the Stevie Wonder gig in Manchester (whilst queuing for beer) and he thought that the whole Oasis incident was "a right laugh" adding that the idiot who ran on would be "lucky to still be alive".

...so there you have it!

Indeed. Gallagher leaving The Jam off the list is very odd.
However, like most of us, if you ask him the same question next year,
he'll probably have a different answer.
I for one, think The Jam are one of the best bands to come out of England
in the past 30 years. God, it's been that long?!?
Paul Weller deserves every accolade given him.

I agree. looking forward to seeing Weller playing live in Eindhoven and Amsterdam in october this year. His latest offering is eclectic, but very much worth listening to!

Yeah - where's the mighty Zep? And The Clash? Surprised he put the Bee Gees in there but I personally love their 60s stuff, especially Odessa.

Well, maybe your changes are better but then it would be the "HelterSkelter" list and not "Noel Gallagher" list, no?

Not a bad list. Surprised to see the Stones at 2nd spot though as Noel said 'Let It Bleed' was the only album he could listen to all the way through.
