Nice one, Memo! Perhaps you can also post e.g. the following acoustic Keith on Youtube:

So sad
Wanna Hold You
Wonder who's kissing her now
It's So Easy

This is off Disc 2 of Voodoo Brew, isn't it? Several versions of Cocaine Blues there - Keith says that it's the first song he learned to play "properly" (whatever that means). There's one track where Keith discusses (with guitar illustrations) how "Cocaine" is musically related to "I Get A Kick Out Of You".

Many thanks to Sissham for putting this together with such a great selection of pictures.

Nah.....it was written by Bob Dylan.......Play it with C,F andd G.........

Yonder comes by baby, all dressed in red
Maybe I’m better off dead
Cocaine all around my brain
Hey baby, won’t you come here quick
This old cocaine is making me sick
Cocaine all around my brain

Yonder comes by baby, all dressed in white
Hey baby, won’t you stay all night
Cocaine all around my brain
Hey mamma, won’t you come here quick
This old cocaine is making me sick
Cocaine all around my brain

Yonder comes by baby, all dressed in blue
Hey baby, what you gonna do?
Cocaine all around my brain
Hey baby, won’t you come here quick
This old cocaine is making me sick
Cocaine all around my brain

Well I looked down Tenth to turn up me
Lookin’ for a guy they call cocaine
Cocaine all around my brain
Then I walked down Tenth Street, turned down Beal
Lookin’ for a guy called they call Lucille
Cocaine all around my brain

Yonder comes by baby, all dressed in white
Hey baby, won’t you stay all night
Cocaine all around my brain
Hey baby, won’t you come here quick
This old cocaine is making me sick
Cocaine all around my brain

The biggest of stadiums or smallest of clubs...Keith in the middle of the stage with one spotlight on him, this song would be beyond cool.

On Jackson Browne's version , it says it was written by Rev. Gary Davis. Some interesting & very high dialogue between Jackson and Glenn Frey at the end.

No mention of Zimmy! Or Zuma Beach!

"This is Keith's cover of the classic blues-song originally written and recorded by Luke Jordan back in 1927"

Been chasing this one around wikipedia - the Luke Jordan song has different lyrics but versions of the song Keith sings date back at least to the 30s (Alan Lomax collected it from Leadbelly and others). Seems to be a true folksong - Bob Dylan has made his own adaptation, so has Keith, so has Jackson Browne, but the author is that well-known poet Anon (with music by Trad).

"Nobody knows - Adam and Eve wrote it" (Keith on Voodoo Brew disc).

Down load the entire Voodoo Brew 4 disc set in FLAC at Qualityboots blog. Disc 2 is Keith doing 75 mins of this great stuff. As He says on the disc "Cocaine Blues" goes back so far no one knows who originally wrote it. He says Ramblin Jack Elliot stole it but "He stole it well!".
