frankfurt 1990 urban jungle tour. amazing! i bacame a fan around 81-82, but with only 9 years i was too young to go to see them on the 82 europe tour. and then i had to suffer for a longlong time! ;-) i think it was the worst time to become a fan. band quarrel, so-so albums, no tour in sight, worried about splitting up....
so it was amazing when i finaly saw them live, in fornt of my eyes!

we are close man -- i saw my first 5 days and 400 miles up the coast after you and I too was at Anaheim 78 (i believe the first show, what about you?). Went to Disneyland the day before, walked to Anaheim Stadium from there. Not far.

Then, my third show was about 3 days later on July 26, 1978 in the Oakland Coliseum Stadium, Mick's 35th birthday!

he just stood there the whole time only moving to light a cigarette - smoked the whole time onstage.

oakland 1994 - voodoo lounge
a different sound with daryl - much more focused and tight but losing some of the rickety stones sound that people love - jagger unstoppable. keith ripping. charlie metronomic.

after the oakland shows the rumor is that they outfitted the warfield club in downtown san francisco to look like a african village for the after party - complete with art and sculpture. anyone know more?

i went to the oakland show with brad blanck (lives in hawaii) who is one of the biggest fans i know (seen them since 72 and met the band)- that was special as he was giving me the subtext. brad if youre on here - tell us some stories.

I can't remember most of the songs, it was March and very cold, I think it must have been 1971 as it was their last tour before they moved to France as tax exiles.

I hadn't got a ticket and begged all night to the doorman to let me in. I just stood by the back door listning and then got in at the very end to them playing Satisfaction. I got right to the front and Jagger threw a basket of roses out into the audience and I cought one and pressed it in a book, I still have it somewhere.

The energy of the band was just electric, I know it's been said many times before but it was very special that night, the sweat was pouring off the band, you could see beads of sweat in the air as Jagger was moving around. I was just 18 at the time.

Opening night 72, vancouver, when the term sex drugs and rock and roll was in full momentum. Martha Reeves and Stevie Wonder as back up.

Queenie, would have loved to have seen them in 89 (played one of my favorites 2,000 Light Years).. I was just a little too young, 12 years old then..

However seeing them play the Beacon was a dream come true for me. I still think about it and can't beleive I was there.

Wembley Stadium Friday 24/8/1990

2nd last night of the urban jungle tour. 23 years old, so pumped up with excitement. Jumped around so wildly during Start Me Up that the enire contents of my pockets - wallet, car keys & coins fell out, though I miraculously found it all amongst the feet of the mad crowd !


Let out a loud gasp of joy when I heard the opening bars of Ruby Tuesday, to the amusement of some crowd members around me.

Great memories. Balmy late Summer evening in London. £22.50 standing ticket. I relished every song as I thought it would be my only ever chance to see them. I certainly didn't think I'd be taking my retired 65 year old parents to see their 1st & my 15th concert in Paris in June last year...

mine was Rotterdam 82. I remember that when the Stones finally came up after George Thorogood and the J Geils band I was already so drunk because I was 15 and with a group of hardcore Stonesfans age 25-35 that I drove in the car to Rotterdam with and these guys kept the beer flowing like a river. but the magic was there from the first second the Stones came on and I somehow managed to follow the whole show. Was hooked from then on.

Plexi,the venerable old Cow Palace is technically located in Daly City.

Sadly I had tickets to Philly '78 but my ride fell thru and I traded the tickets for some smoke.

First Stones=ish show was the New Barbarians at MSG.

First Stones show was Philly '81 ( second day ).
