Oh jolly dear...I think you should read that I wrote once more :-)
The name of this thread it "Blondie Chaplin - What's the ****'Point?"
Well the point is, as many have pointed out, that he's covering on guitar, when Keith's not able to play. But you're right, they could any number of players standing in for Keith. But what's the point in touring, when the machine in the group can't play the game anymore? I think it's a drag that Keith isn't playing that much anymore...love the guy as much as anyone.
But there's really no reason in slagging Blondie, he does what he's hired to do.
During this past tour we've had the Keith threds, the Ronnie threads, the Liza threads and so on. And now it's time to put down Blondie. Well they're all part of the Stones game these days, and you've got to buy the whole package. They simply are not able to go outhere as a 4 or 5 piece band and deliver, like they use to do.
Still they're doing great most of the time and still are a great rock'n'roll band.
Talking of Dylan as you were...well it's my oppinion that he hasn't really delivered much live for the past 25 years, he dosn't really..sings and behaves badly on stage...still he records great songs now and again. Love the man...just don't love the pay he's performing these days. That's why I can't imagine him snarring through Brown Sugar.
