Today I heard on my local FM classic rock station, KPOI FM,Honolulu that the Stones will (out of character and contrary to what they've stated in the past) actually announce the Shine a Light tour as their last hoorah, go-round, final chance to see them perform.
"Jack the Booking Agent" out of Boston called in to Honolulu with the inside scoop. Jack's information is always on target, no matter what band he's talking about. Jack broke the news when the Stones were rumored to play Honolulu ni 2006 and he was the first to break the sad news of the cancellation. He didn't mention the Stones playing Hawaii, but I'm hoping he'll call in with that news flash in the next few months.
But he did say the Stones will actually announce a final tour. We shall see huh? Time will tell. If true, we shall see many sold out shows.

Oh boy, only chance for them to sell out with high ticket prices. Afterwards they have to do another last tour because of the success and demand of the fans.
I would be surprised if they announced a farewell tour, but it would escalate ticket prices even quite a bit higher than they've already been and probably sell them all. Given Keith's debatable, but obvious inconsistency at this point, touring years are growing very short. A certain volatile edge is already missing live. God bless the Stones as they've blessed us. And we them by being such loyal customers.

I fully agree , if they all stay in reasonably good health I believe they would try to reach a Golden Anniversary .

The sentimentality and significance of a 'golden anniversary' is probably more of a big deal to some fans than it is for the Stones themselves, I would guess.
Yes...come to our show and pay $450 a ticket so we can promote our movie and sell you a $9.50 ticket at the theatre...that makes a lot of sense..........
not sure I believe this either, but it would definitely generate a much higher demand for tickets. I wonder how these shows will do at all. To me it seems like the US has been overly saturated in the last couple of years.

He's kinda like, almost like THE REAL DON STEELE and the HUBBABALOUER, in that sort of on going radio tradition sort of way I believe....not something to Poo Poo about at all - serious stuff here for sure....

Sure, who knows and time will tell for sure, but the Stones themselves haven't ever announced a final tour before, right? He's saying that they will make an announcement. Whether it holds true is another story... hope not!
