The "HOLY SHIT" comment was for My Stones saying that he/she/it didn't like Some Girls. How can a Stones fan not like that album? It is perhaps the closest to a perfect album as you can get. The only song I don't like is Lies, and that one is growing on me.

Make no mistake, I do LOVE Some Girls! Any album with Shattered on it is great to me.

I knew i would get cricified. Give me A Bigger Bang or Voodoo Lounge anyday. The intro to Flip The Switch is better than the whole Some Girls album put together. Can't stand the production. The lack of intros. Except beast Of Burden. Shattered is probably my pick for thier worst song. It's funny how we are all fans but love them for diffenet things they have done. That is why they are the great band of all time. Except when they recorded anything from 78 to 85.

Hey My Stones....you have a right to like what you want to....and you have the right to be wrong. Shattered their worst song? Not even in the top 100 worst songs.

The only thing that could possibly tarnish the image of Shattered is the fact that a super-dorky message board is named after it. I try to ignore that board, though.

i like some girls but i wouldnt put it up there with the best like a lot of stones fans do.

respectable and shattered(still life version) are great.

far away eyes is class.

before you make me run is catchy.

lies is an average rocker the likes of what would be found on most albums.

when the whip comes down is another good rocker.

some girls and miss you dont inspire me much.

just my imagination is ok.

beast of burden is a fine song aswell.

I think Some Girls is very overrated actually. It's quite a cohesive sounding album yet it's also a little slight. For me it's stripped down to the point of being a little shallow unlike much of the Stones earlier work. However i think it's head and shoulders above nearly everything post Tattoo You. It just doesn't hold up so well under repeated listens in my opinion.

Thank you. Somebody finally spoke the truth. Give Steel Wheels till now and Black and Blue on back. Emotional, Undercover, Dirty Work and Some Girls are the lowest points. Can you imagine being stuck on an island with these albums. I'll swim 1000 mile where the next island that has Steel wheels, Stripped. B To B. Voodoo Lounge and A bigger Bang.

I have only mentioned one Hold On Yo Your hat.
But it came to mind there is a 60s song which is worse than another.
And I dont mean Gomper...

No; one of their absolute all-time low-marks is
Stupid Girl. That song has annoyed me since I first bought
Aftermath somewhere in the 80s. Lyrics is a Zero or Minus;
while music; harmonies & melody is just very uninteresting.

Amazin' its on the same album as Flight 505, PIB, Outta Time,
Mothers Little Helper, UME etc....

I refuse to name a "bad" song....
IMO - you gotta have not as good songs to appreciate the good songs...

Wow, I'm kind of amazed at how many 'Back to Zero' mentions. I always thought, especially at the time, it was a good anti-nuke message, Not a great song, but at least had some message.

Also 'Have you seen your Mother'...I'd love to hear this live with the horn section they have.

My least favorites are:

Gomper - bad attempt at doing something psychedelic
Indian Girl - just embarassing
Fight - lazy writing, poor playing
Hold Back - same as fight
Hot Stuff - This is a tough one for me. They were trying to do some R&B/Soul thing, which was admirable...but it just didn't work.
Winning Ugly - I know this makes 6 songs, but it deserves to be here
My Girl - just a bad idea from the start

I will always prefer a mediocre song with a message (Back to Zero, Neocon) to something done with so little effort lyrically or musically (Fight, Winning Ugly).

I just think Some Girls is a rather 'slight' album that doesn't compare with the Stones best albums especially the 68-72 period. It's not as good as Goats Head Soup.

The worst Stones songs are still better than what many others can do but my least favorite would be these...
