No he's not fine, although I want him to be fine! But he clearly is not! This has nothing to do with supporting him. WE ALL SUPPORT HIM! But when you see him, you notice from time to time that something has happened to him and it effects his playing.

This really is getting a bit tedious.
Folks who think Keith's fine should maybe just start ignoring these threads...and folks who think there is something wrong with him should have more respect for his dignity than to keep popping up on here to talk about it over and over again.

We don't know, period.

That's my two cents .

Apart from being a little less active during the first few songs at Barcelona, he was fantastic the rest of the time.

My problem is that I paid too much attention to the Keith bashing MUPPETS on this board and was looking for any deficiencies in the great man.

Then I thought What the F@$K are you doing?!

He was pretty awesome in Barcelona!!-My faith was and is totally restored.

You can call that 'denial' if you want!

Please do NOT act like doctors and define what sort of healt condition indivudual people do have or have not. If you want to remark on the music and playing in general then fine, but please do not act like doctors or even try to examine other people's health conditions.

PS. For those who are worried about Keith... I have seen him more or less every day now for a month, on tour, on stage, off stage, and even if he messed up a bit in Werchter and do hit some odd chords here and there, he has still got the same smile and same old Keith. Sure he is older like all of us. But please do not start any campaigns or diagnosis. Keith is playing the guitar and the Stones are still on. If you can't stand seeing a guy grow older then I would suggest seeing the show from another place in the venue may be.

Instead of thinking "Gee, it's sad to see him in such terrible shape", how about this thought: "Isn't it great that he's still around"

I was in barcelona, 10 metres from the stage. Keith was not fine.

No, that's wrong words. He was different than one year ago.

What is it with fridays? You buggers all come outta the wood work!
How many recent gigs have had glowing reviews? Some reports of the best tour in recent times. What are these people.... deaf?
Suddenly were back of with this bumbojumbo!
This always happens on this board. If it aint ticket prices, setlist, return of some past fat old fart were now witnessing the decline of the band! Amargendon! And if you stick up for the band were all supposed to like you get accussed of being in denial!!! BULLSHIT!
Throughout the Stones career the band has had 'off' nights, keith's appeared to be in 'poor' health! Not SHIT.... This is Keith were talking about. Not one for a quick bit of Yogga and Museli in the morning eh! Last tour it was Ronnie but now its keith.
But then out trots these so called medical experts diagnosing keith with everything from a swollen liver to a stroke!!! Appalling!!
Sod of down the pub, pull up a local brew, shovel a handful of Prozac down your gubbin and leave this board alone!

Why are these shitty threads.
If so many people are worried about Keith I think it should be allowed to discuss it here. By the way, capsula was very fair und full of respect in his thread so I don't see any reason to stop such a thread.

People aren't starting threads or as you call it campaigns to bash Keith. It's about true and loyal fans who are concerned about their hero. And I think they are entitled to do so, same as people are entitled to do not.

I just wish this thread would go away... Can someone close it. It hurts - and I can't even imagine how much it must hurt people around him. they do read IORR, you know.

The only positive thing said in this thread I can really identify with: Can't we just be glad and thankfull that he's still around - playing for us. Doing what he loves to do.

If I took a look at your face and said gee I think you look like you are drunk or had a stroke that is not polite in fact that is an insult. That is why I ask people to think about what they say before they say it. We are talking about human beings.

hmm - 2003 --> 2007. a lot of things happend to Keith in the mean time and you are seriously wondering why Keith has changed through four years?

IMO, you come to a strange conclusion because you also said you enjoyed the setlist and the sound at the show.

Never ever heard about the guy who started it.

I'm glad I was right: Keef is alive & kickin' the crap out off us all
as well as he will rock the guts out off us all!!!

>> Just compare, as someone here has said before, his "Sympathy" playing on the Live at the Max video <<

for crying in the dust - that was 17 years ago! if that's our basis for comparison,
where are the threads about Jagger having had a stroke in the meantime??
(he's gettin the opening line of SFTD wrong at least as often as he's gettin it right!
one of the most famous opening lines in the history of rock lyrics and what does he sing?!
"let me please introduce myself" - GAWD AWMIGHTY! help him please doctor he's DAMAGED!)

sorry.
i understand that some of the concern is sincere and thoughtful - but some of it isn't.

look at some SFTDs from 2005. Keith's off stage at times during that number in *most* of the ones i have on dvd,
and enough of his solos then were ummm lackadaisical enough that i developed the theory
that it was his way of protesting the current arrangement. some of the 2006 versions were like that too;
and then one night he started playing that thing like he'd suddenly unearthed the seventh level of meaning to those solos.

now why is that? as the good Spud says: we don't know, and speculating about it on a fan board isn't a way to find out.
there are already about 16 threads voicing varying perceptions, interpretations & speculations on this subject,
and meanwhile whatever is "going on" with the artists is going on.

those are real live irreplaceable human beings up there on that stage - i'll be darned.
all kinds of blessings & joy & well-being on them all

What will you say when they use chairs on stage like every other rock legend that chooses to continue playing into their seventies and eighties. It won't make a difference to me .I'll still go see them! The Stones will still have great music to offer.

There have been many reports from folks at the concerts that Keith doesn't look good, so why not talk and express our feelings about it? It has nothing to do with bashing, it's just as said before in this thread, that we are all worried. Phrases such as 'he is fine' and 'in excellent form' or 'he's Mr. rock 'n' roll' are understandable forms of denial and of course most of us want him to be that way. But the truth of the matter is that he is a life long junkie in his mid 60's, so it's inevitable that eventually he can't go on anymore. We just all wish this happens later than sooner. So, Keith, don't go - yet.

I totally agree with BV, it is a insult to say things like that about Keith. He is human and words can kill especially when you are old. So think before you write. I'm sure that was a off day for him, everyone has them.

Perfect example. You start with a valid point then get all Mills & Boon

Its as if Keiths a jibbering wreck in an old people home not playing the worlds most successful tour EVER!

no, sorry, but i think i disagree (beatles lyrics? yawning smiley) the brain is pretty complicated and healing takes time and is not such a linear thing - ups and downs, as you said yourself. are you a doctor, Doc ? smiling smiley

i'm not denying that Keef is getting older, drinking, partying, but I saw him not long ago at Fenway 2005, before he fell out of the tree (or shrub, as he says) and he played and walked around the stage like a king, full of energy and in really happy spirits, just like we expected. Then the other concerts I saw were after his fall. Milano was so-so (but that was the first show after he fell and i think the stones in general seemed a bit off - kind of like their musical commander was wounded and they had to adjust a little as a band. plus the sound was awful bla bla bla) Then after that Nice 2006 was fabulous - Keef was really in form, no complaints at all. I guess I'm talking about the ups and downs. I'm just saying that I think he's still in the process of healing from an injury that was not a joke. That's what that friend tells me anyway, from her own experience, and to me it makes sense. Sorry if i'm talkin a bunch of bullshit but I'm really too old to go to medical school at this point ;-)

You mean financially? Interesting maybe, but I'd rather discuss the music. If they have a good night, or a bad night, I like to discuss about it. Even if they make the most money with this tour right now, that does't keep me from arguing and discussing the level of a certain performance. That's what it is all about.

What I don't like at all is that if someone is making a point about Keith, Ronnie, Charlie or Mick's performance, that others are putting that into the corner of 'stones bashing'
