No passion, emotion, or growl. Watching Biggest Bang confirms this. There's no energy in his voice anymore. He sings out of tune a lot, and his voice goes flat on many occasions. Whats's the point of even playing them if he can't sing them anymore?? SFTD is god awful now compared to the Steel Wheels B2B versions. Same with PIB. Also, why does Mick sing "hope you GET my name" during SFTD as opposed to"guessed my name" is is that hard to ennuciate two letter s' for him. Terrible. Remember OOC durin the B2B tour. Remember how Mick went balls out voaclly. Those days are long gone.

Let's just say that many of us here would strongly disagree. When I last saw the Stones live in Las Vegas the day Jagger's father passed away, despite his personal grief, the Stones put on a great show and Jagger sounded fantastic. It has always been my considered opinion that Jagger has improved his singing in the last few years.

You can actually say his singing on songs like SFTD,PIB, and even satisfaction is better now than say '97 or '89. Clean your ears! He's got no vocal energy anymore, and the growl in his voice is gone. Listen to PIB from just about any steel wheels show, or from Flaspoint. That's how PIB should be sung, especially towards the end of the song. I forgot to mention IORR has got to be the worst live singing he's ever done nowadays. He;s pretty much speaking the words. Sounds NOTHING like the original and should be dropped. As far as the Vegas show is concerned. I was at that gig as well. I was at the vegas gig in '97 as well. "97 BLEW the '06 show outta the water. Listen to the boot. Compare the songs they did in '97 (warhorses) to the '06 show. No comparison at all is there? Mick has gone DOWNHILL vocally.
I have seen the Stones several times each tour since 1969. Jagger does quite well for a guy his age. His singing was never that great however the Stones keep getting better as a band every tour (musically) and that is because of the constant improvement of technology. Being there live IS the experience, you cannot compare it to watching a DVD on any size screen or stereo system. I am looking forward to seeing them for the 3rd time in 3 years (at Slane Castle), this time about 8,000 miles from my home.
Above are links to PIB from '89 and SFTD from '97. Everybody says Micks singing is just as good now or better. Please find me a better performance of these songs from 05-07 and post them to prove me wrong. Audio files are fine. Why are people so forgiving of this. Vocals are the most important part of the show IMHO, and he puts no energy into them anymore.

Well, as I said, we'll disagree. I won't tell you to "clean your ears" or any such thing. It's all subjective. I've seen my share of Stones shows as well, going back to 1978. No one is going to sound the same at 40 as they did at 20, or 60 as they did at 40. To me, his voice sounds just fine.
He may sound fine for hsi age, but NOT fine for live performances. I've seen the Stones 29 times. The Bang tour has been awful vocally. Mick still has energy to move on stage, but vocally there's no effort anymore. He hides behind the backing singers now more than ever. Wouldn't it make sense to do 10-12 shows a month instead of 18-20 shows, and put a little more emphasis on singing. Then again, fewer shows cuts into the bands bottom line $$$$$$$$$$$$ doesn't it. So keep kidding yourselves, about his GREAT singing for his age, and waste $450 on a tix. FYI WHo fans Daltrey is worse than Mick nowadays.
SFTD from Wrechter. GOD AWFUL! The excuse we'll be, it's not a professional recording, blah blah blah. You can still hear the mans voice, and it's terrible compared to the one I posted above. "Hope you GEPPED my name"?????????

Ohhhhkayyyyyyy. Look, NO ONE cares how many times you or I have seen the Stones. Both of us are correct as far as either one of us is concerned. For me, he sounds great live, and certainly nothing you say is going to change my opinion. I would imagine nothing I say will change yours. More room for the rest of us if you're not at the next show. Cheers.

So now Jagger is terrible? Jagger, Richards and Wood are all shot yet they mangage to draw tons of people to their concerts? I guess Watts must be the whole band these days.
I predict in a few days we will have someone griping that Watts is no good anymore. Utterly laughable. Say hello to the other nuts when you get back to the asylum slybri74.

Well that's what I felt in 1982. But since he has gotten better. His singing at the concert last year was just great.

I'm curious. Why can't we just disagree on this? Why do you have pressing the issue? It might be a fact for you, but not for others.
People have debates about Ronnie and Keef, there are still people saying Mick T and Bill Wyman NEED to come back. Is Mick above criticism from his fans. Here's another vocal trainwreck to prove my point. FYI the guitars sound great.
slybri74, you must be kidding. All of us have seen ABB concerts. What do you think you prove "giving" us a clip with terrible sound and lowest quality? Absolutely nothing...
Correct many of have seen the shows, and the board is filled with complaints. This is just 1 in a long line of complaints. I'm sure we're all just overwhelmed by the great vocals on SWAY. LOL!

People have debates about Keith and Ron because they are debatable issues. I haven't heard ANYBODY crtitize Mick's singing besides you.
You can have any opinion you want. You can claim the world is flat but you won't find many people to agree with you.

The stones are my favorite band , and as i heard the bootlegs of werchter and nijmegen , they play very well and jagger sings fine. No doubt on it.
Hell man! Do you see the moves he does?! Nobody sings perfect live anyway but he sounds AWESOME, and you have to respect how he does it. He runs, and sings at the same time... and rarely misses a beat. I've watched the Biggest Bang DVDs, there AMAZING My favorite live song is Midnight Rambler, goddamnn i cannot get enough of how Mick plays the harmonica, then hteres a short silent break, and keith comes in with the riff.
