here we go with the "Stones are old and washed up" song and dance again....
While how true or valid these statements may be is strictly a matter of opinion, all of these things have been said over and over and over and over again....
It seems that many people just want to complain and declare that they're washed up and over the hill as if these declarations are going to open eyes and make a difference to the rest of us. We may agree and we may not, but we've heard it all so many times before.......
Again, I'm sure you all thought Mick was just G-R-E-A-T on Sway. Loving Cup is another trainwreck live, as well as She Was Hot. AWFUL. Keith screws up on his vocals during his set, but he puts more effort into crooning the song out. Mick hides behind Bernard,Lisa, and Blondie. I've posted several clips, and yet nobody can find me a version of PIB or SFTD from the last 2 years that are better VOCALLY than the ones I posted. Why?? Because there are none. "Hope you GEPPED my name" YUCK!

wow! the ABB 4 dvd must suck then, because when i saw him (especially at the DC show in oct. 2005), he let loose at the end of SFTD that put both the record AND the screams at brussels '73 to shame. i was amazed that he was going all out and perfectly nailing this screechy falsetto. maybe you are referring to what some have said was overdubbed vocals on some of the new dvds? still don't have it yet, so i can't tell what you're on about.

Why has no one dug any up? Because you're not worth the @#$%& time.
If just one thing can be said to be right with the Rolling Stones then Mick Jagger would be it. He's a true pro and the very best in the business. (In my opinion of course!)

I disagree. Some songs are horrible yes, but he was passionate and all those improvised things on IYCRM, SFTD etc are among his best performances. Love those years.

Mick is just great. for me the most remarkable thing about the a bigger bang tour is that mick looks better than before, is fitter than before (also thinner i think) and sings better than before, even though he was on a very high level before.
his singing is just perfect. you can´t´do any better, especially live.
The Stones are not and never have been the most perfect band in the word BUT they are the greatest Band and always have been. They all have an off night or two but so what, that's why we all love them. There is no other band who have the combination of the Stones, From Jaggers voice to Keith's guitar, they are all a bit rough around the edges but that's what makes them so great.
I havn't heard of anyone else complaining about Jagger's voice, all I can say is if you think he's lost it don't go and see them anymore, don't come on here trying to wind up all his fans.
Jagger's great, no complaints at all. It can be discussed if you like certain vocal performances like Sway last year, but this has nothing to do with his singing in general which is not terrible by any means.
That's not true, he hided more behind backupsingers on Steel Wheels, and you had 2 female and 1 male backupsingers at that time.

I am not searching the net after boot recordings I go to shows and enjoy myself instead. Anyway, why the hell do you think, that if you write something even backed up with recordings made by fans with cell phones or stuff like that is a fact. I let you know that your quotes are not facts, but opinions.
Mick is not, in any way shape or form terrible. on saturday night, he lead from the front and was a consumate professional... the best frontman in the business. - however.... i do have to say that his vocals on saturday night, were at times, a little weakened and strained..maybe not as strong and powerful as last year.... don't shoot me...i'm telling you, how i saw/heard it.
...my initial reaction, was that he was maybe suffering from his usual, touring throat problems.
You can say Keith is screwing up all you want but MICK is far better than ever, hands down the greatest frontman in rock, EVER, so you won't win this battle! You are plainly just trying to get a reaction from folks here, I should have just ignored you! Wish I had actually..
I don't like his vocals on Brown Sugar and Honky Tonk Women, they just don't seem to fit in the songs. But I think Sympathy For The Devil, As Tears Go By, Rocks Off, Midnight Rambler, Worried About You during ABB were all great.
I thought this post was a joke when I first read it.
While there have been many things to lament and praise about the stones over past few tours, in my opinion Mick has stepped up and is in many ways better than he's ever been as a performer.
Mick clearly has been working at keeping his instrument in top form and it has paid off at every show I've seen in past 10 years (about 15 shows). Clearly, others in the band -- others who have been my personal favorites as a guitarist --are suffering fatigue and issues.
But Mick keeps it all together. Night after night.

Yep. If anything he's raised his game to hold the band together in the last few years more than ever before. Personally, I think that his high point in that regard was the Licks tour but as a performer and vocalist, for a man of 63 years of age, he's pretty much beyond reproach.
Mick Jagger is 75% of The Rolling Stones nowdays. He is at his best.Really fantastic. His singing is just very very good, his performance is No.1. in the world!!!
Yup - he's stopped barking in the last few years. Anyone who thinks he was at his best in the late 70s/80s - including on record - well, we'll have to agree to disagree. His singing on ABB is a tick in the album's favour.
