Havent the papers bashed this band from start till now?
The bee-member-singer & the dad-snorter-riddem-guitarist,
the Arabian-horse-breeder, the Faces-Legend-lead guitarist,
the Texan, former Buddy Holly-brass-sectionist
plus the former-Miles-Bassist & a bunch of other dudes
will sooon enter the stages of Euope and wipe the floor
with all pathetic has-been-musicians & tabloid music critics who
find it so easy to write but deep deep down inside they
feel a pain and a severe envy they werent to be any Stones.

*ra-ga-doshhhhh*

Thank ya for all reports, bart, please give us more following hours! smiling smiley

At least there are lots of cows in the Werchter area. They will have a great time. They look at me when I walk there and they thing walking fans are great as a change of the normally just scenic farm view. Look at it from the bright side. Also, last time I was at Werchter it was a mess, far too many people inside, it would not hurt to be able to breathe when you attend a show. I think I spend 30 minutes getting from one side to the other.

I don't think the stones like the idea of playing for cows :-)

Our friend and journalist Peter Mestach was on Radio 1 explaining the poor sales.
He blaimed the cancellation of last year + the fact that people had to wait very long to get their refund.

Possible setlist...

Emoootional Rescue
All the Whey Down
Dandelions
Bull Fighting Man

And if the cows have been doing what cows usually do, then we'll have to have Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo and Slipping Away...

What are poor sales? This threat talks about rehearsals I thought.
But one thing is clear there are three concerts very near each after in a more or less close areas Nijmegen, Werchter and Frankfurt (only some hours to drive) and there are less people attenting more shows.

Sad but true Bjornulf, they pack too many people at a relative small spot. Every year when i attend the Rock werchter festival it gets even worse, with usually around 80.000 to 90.000 people on it :/

I was just there. Only some security there
When I asked: Are they in? They answered: Who?

Cute, isn't it?

rehears should start tomorrow so goes the rumour

well, adding to what my friend Peter M said, you can also add the bad timing a Tuesday is not a good date, plust in June a lot of people are studying for there finals.., a lot of people who were going to attend last time , the cancelled gig in Brussels were happy that there were seatings then , and we all know that Werchter is very poorely accomodated for that category of people,
indeed slow refunding can be a reason

but on the other hand you don't hear my complaining :-) that sales are low, i remember like BV said, last time in Werchter, the FOS area was seriously overcroweded, i remember very well that around 1800 the let a lot of vip idiots in and all of a sudden it was a big mess ..might be different this time..

cya all in Werchter, i'll wear my Beast of Belgium Sticky Fingers fanclub shirt :-))))

cheers
peter

Koning Boudewijnstadium was a better location plus there are a lot of other performances in Belgium too around this time, to name a few: Roger Waters and Bob Dylan have been here, Diana Ross and Beyonce this week, The Who, Lou Reed, Rock Werchter festival, Graspop festival and many others coming up.

So that all counts up smiling smiley

correct Siggy16
that i forgot to add, it's very crowed in Belgium these days and all these gigs are expensive, either,
btw, read this morning that due to poor sales for The Who, they are changing location to the Arena and not the Sportpaleis ..so, it's not only the Stones and we all know that in Belgium the Werchter 3 day festival is a killer and a lot of so so fans from the Stones prefer to spend there money to see that instead The Stones ...

NOT funny!
I wasn't participating, but "Man bijt hond" contacted the Belgian Fan club an hour before the shooting. Vince did a great job and Luc rushed from his work to do a little acting winking smiley

As for the Tongue shirts; to late, when I had a look this afternoon at the Videohouse (It's on the way to and from my work), 2 Belgian fans were there, one of them with a Stones shirt.

obviously not! but that's how you get recognized as "Stones expert" in media: just talk like an insider who knows more but in reality you dont know more than other people.

and "explaining poor sales": when was this ever necessary in Stones history?

bad timing, Tuesday not a good date, in June a lot of people are studying for there finals...slow refunds last time...COME ON, PEOPLE! this is tour opening show and there was a time not too long ago when opening shows wer sold out quicker than you could make snip with your fingers!!! and where are those thousands of fans from france, holland, scandinavia, germany and other countries who usually travel all over the world to see Stones and opening gigs in special?

lets face it: Stones have to re-think their act.

too expensive tickets (and much too expensive extras like merchandise and stuff), too repetetive setlists, too often on tour - market is saturated to a point that even former diehards turn their back to them. I will go but many of my friends dont go. time for a reality check, boys (and Mr. Cohl in particular).
