Mr J,

This sounds like a good little project for us to work on, seeing as you and I both (among others) have seen the Stoned countless times and chat with them on/off after shows etc, plus YOU know the ole Half Moon like the proverbial "back of your hand" ... so why don't we have a conflab about it once this bank holiday weekend is over and we'll see if we can pull it off ? Shouldn't be THAT difficult. I mean, as long as the band earn something approaching their usual fee out of it and the Half Moon gets something approaching its usual take from the bar ... it would in effect be just one more "private party" ?

But ... WHAT a f***ing party huh ? Lets give it a go. Nothin' ventured, nothin' gained.

So far I've got tickets to the 21st and 23rd shows. The 26th is possible, but I don't have a ticket for that show yet. I'm looking for someone with a spare ticket to buy and go with, so if anyone has room for me for the 26th please let me know! The O2 Dome looks magnificent!!

Me, my family, and 2 kids (unless kids are not appropriate, though one of them is 22) will go, sounds like great fun.

Are they the best of the tribute bands (roughly how many tribute bands are there anyway, anyone know)?

I'll be in for 21st and 23rd shows, from the midwest, Ohio.
I have not yet seen the Stones across the pond!

(Would love to attend the tribute band night, if it works out.)

I agree, but although I've not been there yet, I'm pretty sure the O2 is actually housed inside the dome!

All the indications are that acoustically at least, it should be the best large-scale venue in London, i.e. better than Earl's Court & Wembley (arena or stadium).

Looking forward to it, whatever, though.

I first saw the Counterfeit Stones and they were really good. Went to see them a few times and they always have a good storyline and supplemented it with a background Video/DVD.

However, last year I saw the Rollin Stoned and they were even better - more Rock n Roll, whereas the Counterfeits are more of a show.

Well...than you can count me me IN for those 2 dates, too....and as I will be in London from 21st to 27th I have the dark feeling that I will go and see the first gig as well..buy buying a ticket on showday somewhere around the O2 arena area.

MJ & the Vikings ... we're hoping to meet up with you guys in Copenhagen over the weekend of 4th/5th August. I think you're doing the Copenhagen show, right ?

Yep, Copenhagen, Oslo and Gothenburg. Then a short break until London.
Don´t know the travelling arrangements for Copenhagen yet, but i don´t think we´ll stay overnight. I´ll let you know, cause we´re definitely coming.

Aug. 21 and 23rd. I'll be traveling with a cute 5 year old who has firsthand knowledge of mommy's little problem with the Stones. I sure hope I can find a good babysitter through the hotel. Mary Poppins with a 'tude.

The whole trip from SF is wildly beyond my means. And, yeah, I'm doing it anyway!! Just gotta sell more large lingerie on ebay, I guess!!

The Rollin Stoned are booked to play the Half Moon every couple of months this year (03JUN, 03AUG, 06OCT, 21/22DEC), but I am sure it would be possible to fit in an additional 'IORR Bigger Bang' special party night for all of us.....Oh Yeah!

would be one hell of a coup to get these boys for an IORR private party.
bring it on!

Tuesday 8th May 10:30: I've just spoken to them/their London office - the guy is calling me back later this morning. I've told them there is considerable interest in a Rollin' Stoned gig within that week that the Stones are performing three times at the O2. Once I get clear information from them about (a) their availability, (b) their cost, (c) their suggestions/preferences for a venue or venues - I will initiate a thread here on IORR and be asking people to post info regarding their own interest/willingness to attend a Rollin Stoned gig/private party. That way we can at least get a quantifiable measure of probable numbers, and the entire exercise might just become come feasible. After all, it's only (a) rock n' roll, and (b) a few $$$$$$$$$s !!

Stay tuned ...

Update ...

Spoke with one member of the band. One of the other band members has got committments of some description that fall in August, hence possible complications. The guy I spoke with is going to find out whether or not a gig on Friday 24th or Saturday 25th August is "possible" by means of some juggling of afore-mentioned committments, or whether it's totally out of the question. He'll get back to me by the end of this week.

They're aware obviously that a gig in the week that the Stones are in town would be well attended, but unfortunately because the Stones left the tour annoucement so late ... committments had already been made. Ain't THAT a familiar story, how many of US have been implicated in much the same way ?

I hope to be able to provide an update by the end of the week if the guy I spoke with gets back to me.
