Hi Timbernardis

We are staying at the Expo Hotel which is next to the railway station and within walking distance of the stadium.

It appears that those taking a rs.com package will also be staying there.

If you book with a company called Otel they seem to have the best rates.

I also booked with them for last years cancelled Barca gig and they were quick to refund via credit card.

Good luck.

Hi

Although I do not speak Spanish I managed to register & book 3 tickets via [www.elcorteingles.es]

They have taken my money & sent confirmation but no instructions (maybe in website somewhere) about ticket pickup etc.

Anyone know where or how to pick up tickets in Barcelona issued by elcorteingles ?

Cheers

Hi Stanton

You can pick up the tickets at any of their dept stores-there has been a link earlier on this post on the list of stores in Barcelona-most seem to have ticket shops in them.

I actually sent an e-mail (in English) to the company (e-mail address is given to you during the transaction) and got a very polite e-mail back (in good English) confirming that the tickets will be there for me. It also said that the tickets could be picked up on the day of the concert although everyone else is saying the latest is the day before the event.

Hope this helps

hi nanker phelge

Thanks for the quick reply.
I have been reading back here.
Seems a bit bizarre having to pick up 1 day before? I cannot see the logic in that unless they have some tie in with all the Hotels to get you to stay another night !!!
I already spent enough in Barcelona (last years no show) ;-)

I think if you got your ID (Passport) & Credit Card which purchased tickets the tickets should be availble immediatly.

Thanks , I 'll check with there office.

According servicaixa and other sources ticket sales in Spain are running very, very slow, still 70.000 tickets for both concert on sale, is that too much???
Comparing last year sale are worst, The Police, Heroes del Silencio (local Band) have sold out ticket in one day!!
Another reason, cancellations of last year, and expecting the concert come closer to D day.

Stones played in Spain in 2003 (5 shows), 1999 (1), 1998 (3)..... The Police is not a band since....... 25 years ago??? And Heroes del Silencio since 10 or 15 years ago...... Do you imagine the Stones doing a mini-tour how Heroes or The Police do, 15 years later of their last show!!????

And I´ve say lots of times...... 5 shows in Spain-Portugal, in the same row.... is TOO MUCH!!! Last year was 2 in May and 2 in August..... this is more logical!!!

Still so, Barcelona and Madrid pitch are almost sold out!! Both sides of seats in El Ejido are almost sold out (just keep green and the back)...... common!!! Thing is not so bad!!!

If theyd announced these shows before Christmas when they usually do, we wouldnt be having this discussion.

The public only have a limited amount of funds to see the various bands that are touring and waiting until late March to announce a tour is absolute idiocy and a decision the logic of which no one has been able to adequately explain as yet - especially considering it has been evident for almost a year that they would tour in 2007.

Here we are a month after the announcement and some shows are still either not on sale or have just gone on sale within the last week or so. What are they thinking of?

Re: SPAIN CONCERTS & TICKETS
Posted by: nanker phelge ()

I must admit that I was surprised how late they left the tour announcement and then, as Gazza says, how long after the announcement that some of the tickets went on sale.

Perhaps this part of the tour is just an afterthought?

I dont know about that, but if youre booking large venues at high prices in a competitive market, it stands to sense that the band and promoters would do whatever's required to maximise sales.

According the article the promoter says that last year's cancellations may affect sales because people just wait for a while before deciding to buy tickets. It would be understandable.

June 21 Barcelona, June 23 San Sebastián, June 28 Madrid, June 30 El Ejido … this makes 4 concerts in only 9 days in Spain. Where do you think all the people should come from? Not everybody can permit him or herself the luxury of seeing multiple shows by the same band in so short a time. Some people simply don't want to, fan or not.

Slow ticket sales have their upsides, too: No chance for the scalpers. And a good chance for those who want to catch a show on short notice. Not everyone can plan months ahead.

Re: SPAIN CONCERTS & TICKETS

It was perfectly legitimate to give Spain four shows this summer..after all, they got none last year and the four that they had announced for 2006 had all sold well. The shows are geographically spread enough that theres no reason why they shouldnt be able to sell as well this year if promoted properly.

When I ordered my pitch ticket by phone over the weekend, the pretty Spanish lady told me they could be picked up the day before the show, then she added that they could be picked up the day of the show (one of her colleagues may have told her this whilst on the phone with me).

<<< Here we are a month after the announcement and some shows are still either not on sale or have just gone on sale within the last week or so. What are they thinking of >>>

A fine question indeed, and wouldn't we all luuuurrv to have an answer to it from them ? My perception is that for reasons (as you rightly say) that are unexplained, it all seems to have been a bit of a "rush job" putting Europe 2007 together. I don't object in principle to the sales for different venues being spread out over a period of time. If you're attending innumerable shows as for example I am, that works well enough. It's stressful enough getting tickets for one or two shows on the same day at the same hour, imagine having to do it for even more than that ? Aaaagghhh ... horrors ! But the aspect of it that seems to suggest it's in part been a bit rushed and not well planned has been in its "execution". Some of the sales haven't started on time, others have been appalling for a variety of reasons. The Barcelona and Madrid sales were poor in my opinion due there being no adequate seating plan info available during the presale period. Otherwise, there was some c**k up regarding Bucharest I think it was, where by one agency sold tickets for the presales but another (unknown to most punters) actually dealt with the public sale. Several people I know fell victim to that particular mess-up. The Budapest sale didn't start on time, it was at least a couple of hours late, and had lots of people highly confused at the quoted start time.

I personally think that what with some of these very basic mistakes being repeated time and time again, from Licks to ABB, and then from ABB 2005/2006 again 2007, it just smacks of either (a) downright bloody laziness or (b) downright bloody incompetence on behalf of www.rollingstones.com NOT to have made some inroads towards addressing these sorts of problems. And overshadowing these sorts of issues is the altogether larger concern that no doubt a great many of us have, and that is "the TRUE value of a Legacy code". So far, it's proven that there basically hasn't been any significant value, witness the fact that countless people (including myself) diposed of Legacy codes at the time of the O2 21st & 23rd presales in the highly reasonable belief that THIS was the moment we'd been waiting for. THIS was where/when the Legacy code was gonna show its real worth. Boy o boy were we disappointed, not a single offering for floor seats in the crucial A blocks ? And then at 08:59 on the day of the PUBLIC sale, I ended up buying 2 seats in block A3 row H on the floor for the second O2 show. Huh ... so much for a Legacy code !

So back to Gazza's point, what were they thinking in leaving it so late ? Dunno, but if it affects ticket sales, we shouldn't be surprised, because quite understandably people have allocated/spent money already and made plans. The bit that irks me is that HAVING left it late, it's just bloody annoying to find the same sort of c**k ups being repeated ovetr and over. At the very least, you'd have thought that they'd have constructively utilised the "extra" time they've had so to say to get all these bugs ironed out. Nope ... none of it.

She liked me so much she e mailed me her photo.

Actually, she "sounded" sexy and pretty.

And I did tell her I would buy one for me and one for her. She laughed.
