Big Country in Blackburn (support: The Icicle Works) — been there already.

Didn’t have a ticket but made a last minute decision and bought a ticket on the door. Never seen them before. I had had an idea that they were shadows of the past. They weren’t. This comparison had never occurred to me, but their intense yet relaxed performance last night reminded me of the two unforgettable shows of the great Georgia Satellites I saw in the 80s — so energetic, so exciting, so adrenaline-infusing.

Perhaps they are a kind of band you might think are finished or uncool, but when you are there in person, would turn out to be much better than your less than enthusiastic expectation.

Highly recommend, especially for anyone in doubt (like me). So glad I attended the show.

I see you've got Heart/CT tickets already! Got presale notification this morning. Playing the Coliseum I'm sure there will be a lot of tickets available if I decide last second to go. Just saw Heart several years ago in Abbotsford w/Joan Jett, who I liked more. Saw Cheap Trick with ZZ Top in Abby 2022 and then just last year w/ Rod Stewart. I'm hoping Aerosmith comes to Vancouver one last time.

I regret not going to see Heart at the PNE in 2016, or whenever that was, when it was free with admission. Nosebleeds were $35, this time around, but about another 20 in fees.

I hope Aerosmith comes here too. I was disappointed when their initial announcement excluded YVR. I'm sure both would have sold well enough, with the farewell headlines.

Oldies show next weekend featuring The Association (two original members) and Classics IV (zero original members). Two groups with a combined eight Top 10 hits between them, the last of which was on the charts when I was 9 years old.

I'm 64 now.

You left out Dinosaur Jr. on September 21. Definitely don’t miss them! J is one of my favorite guitarists. And, Lou (also from Sebadoh, a fantastic band) rips on bass! They’re like a warm sonic blanket of noise. They tend to be polarizing, but if you’re on the right end of that, you’ll be rewarded greatly by their catalog and live show. Also, J is one of the best, most creative, expressive soloists.
