A friend of mine wants me to do a 4 CD Best of the Stones 1962-2005.
What should I add beside the big hits. 4 CDs are quite a small space for careeer of 45 years, but I want to keep it all limited.
Suggestions ?
A complote, chronogical, tracklist is welcome...

Anything will do as long as you exclude Sweet Neo Con...

tell them to by the friggin records like the rest of us...Plus you cant burn them anything, as its stealing.

Thats what friends are for. If you own a huge collection of Stones cds and you want make a best of compilation that is your business. You already bought the cds. Everyone does that. Who are you stealing from?

From the record company. He's stealing the music his friend DIDN'T HAVE TO BUY.

You can't steal what you have already bought. Once you buy it, it is yours. If you privately burn your own best of, good for you. If your friend asked you for a copy and you said no because its "stealing from the record company" I'd advise him to find a new friend.

Where I come from a friend would never ever refuse that kind of request, and it would never come up. Only idiots would tell you that.

I wouldn't want burned official stuff unless I already have it. It is stealing. And people tend to forget what's right or wrong sometimes. Like "I have Dance (Pt. 1), so I can download If I Was A Dancer (Dance Pt. 2) because I have the first one".

Exactly. Burning stuff for yourself and burning for someone else is NOT the same thing. Am I an idiot because I won't nab a candy bar for a buddy whose having a chocolate craving?

It's not stealing, it's copying. Before CD-burning I used to mix tapes for friends and loved one's. As long as you do not sell your copies or use them for commercial reasons I think it's ok. Hopefully you're friend will love the music on the CD and become a fan. Then he will probably go to the next Stones concert, buy some merchandise and some CD's on his own. The Rolling Stones have their money anyway.
