You should be so lucky ;^)

Over on our side of the pond you'd be very lucky if any regional radio station played any Stones from one week to the next !

I never listen to commercial radio. Luckily, I live in a city with three non-commercial radio station alternatives. I hate commercial radio with a passion.

"Wild Horses" gets played a lot. For some reason so do the big 60's hits like "GOOMCloud", "Breakdown", "Thumb", "Paint it Black"

"...no longer shall you trudge 'cross my peaceful mind."

I must say that I hate classic rock radio, it's too much of nostalgica.
I listen to NDR 2, a German programme that plays many different styles of music, mostly mainstream pop, but also things like "Positively 4th Street" and "Dy'er Mak'er".
I thing the most playedStones song is "Start Me Up" (the last time I've heard it was this morning), followed by "Brown Sugar", "Miss You ", "Mixed Emotions" and "Paint It Black".
I've also "As Tears Go By", "Under My Thumb", "Lady Jane", "Angie", "Rain Fall Down", "Streets Of Love", "Don't Stop", "Oh No, Not You Again", "This Palce Is Empty", "Love Is Strong", "Anybody Seen My Baby ?", "Satisfaction", "She's A Rainbow", "19th Nervous Brerakdown", "Emotional Rescue", "Waiting On A Friend" and "Tumbling Dice" on this programme.
That's what I like abouzt NDR 2, they try to mix it up a bit and dig the catalogue of many bands deeper than those classic rock stations.

Ruby Tuesday, Satisfaction, Lets Spend The Night Together and Brown Sugar get played on BBC Radio 2 quite a bit. The singles from A Bigger Bang got played a fair bit too.

We also have an "oldies" station that kind changed their format to include some more modern stuff and less 50's and early 60's music. They pick up on the more 60ish stones songs like "Jumping Jack Flash", "Satisfaction", "Ruby Tuesday", "Paint It Black", etc...

Our more mainstream classic rock station considers such music "dated" and rarely plays such songs.

I know it may seem like heresy but ny rock radio really wears of SFTD and definitely has worn out SMU.

Well, I've almost quit listening to radio stations, so I cannot tell you what they "overplay".

None. Shitty radios in Saxonia (Leipzig- Dresden), Germany play no Stones tracks at all. Perhaps Angie, Satisfaction or The Last Time on "our" oldies radio station but that's all. I never heard Streets Of Love on radio, not to speak of Rain Fall Down or Biggest Mistake.

I"ve heard shattered a few times recently on the radio and satisfafction. their songs always sound good to me on the radio. I dont have a problem with what they play, only with what they choose not to play.

NYC sucks when it comes to good old Rock and Roll stations....they overplay all the songs we complain about The Stones playing over and over live...the usual warhorses.

In Chicago, we have 3 major stations that play Stones music. While I don't listen to public radio all that much, from my listening:

One station plays an eclectic mix of rock, and they provide a nice variety Stones tunes, if I would have to pick Stones songs I hear more than others, I would say IORR, SFTD, JJF, and ATPTB

Another station is straight classic rock with a "lighter" edge to it, they favor 60 's Stones tracks, and play more heavily Wild Horses and LSTNT, although they also do a good job of playing a decent variety of Stones tunes. Yesterday, they played SFTD and LWM from GYYYO during their daily "live at 5" segment.

The final station that plays Stones music is a hard rock station, favoring more mass appeal rock tunes. They play the Stones semi frequently, but are limited in their variety. They favor: SFTD, TD, BS, SMU, IORR and heavily favor HTW.

Hey Steel Wheels?

I'm a Chicago son myself, where you from?

I mostly listen to The Drive and XRT. The Loop can be a little much at times.

Good to hear from a fellow Chicagoan

Oh, also - funny story about the Stones on the radio.

Dance Little Sister came on the radio, after we had switched it over from another radio station that was playing IORR, and as I started to sing along, my little sister who was in the car with me (we were going to buy Christmas presents) started to dance. It was pretty funny.

I live just north of downtown in the old town area.

I listen to XRT the most, followed by The Drive (although their sappy promotional segments usually force me to switch stations). I agree with you on The Loop. All in all, I'd say Chicago radio is pretty decent for Stones music -- both in amount they are played, and in variety.
