With regards to using the tounge.....

Would it necessarily be copyright infringement to use the older version (first versions) as in "Rolling Stones Records Tounge". Or perhaps if that is not acceptable the tounge image on the inside gatefold of Exile (Sweet Taste Of Joy). Just a thought for those who want the tounge included!!

And yes a big vote for White shirts as Florida is such a Hot Climate and Dark Colors are very uncomfortable in my part of the globe.

i'm down on using the tongue.. thats totally uncreative... its on every damn thing ever sold ... can't we come up with something else??? the guy who came up with it did so like 35 years ago..i'msure we can be a little creative... its just a matter of thinking aboutit..

Florida....??? This is the European Fan Club, so any colour we / Bjørnulf pick(s) is ok. But no Guantanamo-orange or shidoobee-green, thanks!

I think we should definitely include "iorr.org" in the design, to differenciate between just another "rock and roll" shirt......and again, can we pleeeeeease use the Stones tongue so people know we are Stones fans.....please.

how about making keith's head the "skull" with cross-bones below! i'd want a good drawing of keith's head though - i.e. no caricature

I've just got through page 1 of this thread, but I have a few comments, the first of which is

IT'S ABOUT TIME

Second, I think it essential that it is clear to one and all who might view the shirt that IORR is a group/fan club (and website). If you just say IORR, they won't know what that means, and if you just say It's Only Rock n Roll, they will just figure it's a t shirt with the name of the song on it.

We must be clear about our identity! I think we should just use the banner phrase on our web page:

IT'S ONLY ROCK N ROLL (LARGE LETTERS/ALL CAPS) and then underneath smaller:

The Rolling Stones Fan Club Of Europe


Personally, I would also like to see two other derivative shirts:

"Who the F*uck is BV?" and

"Who the F*uck is Gazza?"



And, of course, another derivative shirt:

"What the F*uck is the Plexiglass?"

nice try Mr. Plexiglass........shouldn't the ".org" be included, to accentuate the website?

What happened to NO political statements on this board?

I'm no artist, but a classic black line drawing of the band circa pre-1968 on the back, and an iorr logo of some kind, such as has been suggested, on the front. I like the stone-washed blue idea. Black would probably not work with the line drawing. Perhaps red would be cool as well.

This is a great idea, and I'm definitely ready to place my order!

just some obeservations:

the tongue logo being out for copyright reasons includes "old versions" of it,
so unless someone here can come up with a cool variation ... ?
most photos/cartoons by people other than one of us will have the same copyright problem as the tongue.
any image of only one of the Stones is going to be protested by some iorrians;
same with any image of the band that doesn't include all four current Stones.
and iorr isn't "the Rolling Stones Fan Club of Europe". it's a fan site frequented by folks from all over.

I think this is a really good idea. Although I find concert t-shirts difficult as they seem to only come in XXL. I've queued up in many concerts, only to be told that I need to be morbidly obese to wear official band merchandise. Maybe I could get a small kept on hold just for me!

or offer up to five different designs (with the five different line-ups, i mean)?

A little something to consider: if whe want it to be recognizable / 'readable', the image should be very clear and basic. People just do not take time to take a good look (why should they?). So if others should be impressed too, we should be critical on the style and usability of the pic.

If we do not care, and regard this shirt as an inside joke, don't bother.
