I like the ABB quote idea. It would give the t-shirt some history of when i was made and such.

Take a picture of Jagger from 1972 (With mascara and all that stuff) and then add the ABB quote: "You look a little dressed up" from Let Me Down Slow.

Don't worry mate. A logo should be on it, and you should make it.

I'll have another go soon and see if there's any more reaction and see what BV thinks.......

The tongue made by William Stout is to diverse from the official Stones tongue to give any legal problems. (This is not the case if a design is used by the Stones themselves like for example the 1973 winter tour tongue).

If the design looks almost the same it gives the Stones lawyers enough reasons to sue, but with this tongue design they won't have a strong case and they know it.

ey, who get's in contact to Sebastian Krüger or better Ronnie himself to offer them an opportunity to sketch a shirt design for us?

Re: The official IORR T-shirt

I doubt BV would even take the risk. Anyway, try and be more original. It could end up looking like a dodgy boot t-shirt you get outside the gigs???

Lets get rid of the tongue..I love it but its on every shirt...something different for a chance?

Could you imagine Sebastian Krüger or Ronnie Wood doing the logo? It would be awesome. It's impossible to find an e-mail address to Ronnie, but Sebastian Krüger must have one surely.

What about something that is based on BV's drawing of the Stones on the homepage? The heads that are right above the big group photo at the bottom? It is easily recognizeable, it is a drawing, obviously not copyrighted. As much as I love Stu I don't agree with him on the shirt. If there is a drawing it just gets cluttered.

It's the combination "Stones and tongue" that makes this a legal matter, not quite as black and white as you see it. As long as it's obvious that someone uses a logo, modified or not, to identify with the owner of the logo... They're in deep s**t. So, therefore - no tongue.

BV dos not have the rights to use it for something like this. He was probably granted permission by the artist. He would have to ask again if he was to use it for a t-shirt also. BV didn't draw it.

Yes I know BV didn't draw it. Since it is on his homepage and BV seems to be very aware of what he can use etc. I refer to the drawing as 'his'.

The drawing is not ideal for a T-shirt print. Too detailed. We need something like a "shadow-painting" - like the ones we used to have of Che Guevara and Jimi Hendrix. (if that makes sense to you) They're visible, easy to print and not too detailed.

Can someone work on a nice logo : IORR.org ?

Yes I know exactly what ypu are talking about and totally agree. there has also been a very famous one of Dylan floating around for ages. That is why I say "based" on the drawing. Needs to be changed into more heavy solid lines, and less. But it doesn't look at all too detailed IMO.

If you refer to the Brian Jones logo that used to be on the frontpage it is certainly useable (If that's even a word smiling smiley). I once tried to convert the colours on it after I had made it purely black/white. On a black background it looked killer with Brian in white.

The Rockman signature photo would be great(im dreaming!).

I would say that the T-shirt colour should be cherry red as Mr. Jimmy said. Let's please stick with that.

Couple of ideas for a simplistic logo in the form of a seal....

....colours, style can be changed of course!

The Rolling Stones actually consists of four - 4 - members. So 4 faces should be on the t-shirt. Including dead people and a quitter - no, not a good idea. We're talking about The Rolling Stones 2007. 4 gentlemen.
A T-shirt cant tell the entire story of a band. Let's leave that to the books and this board. Today's line up is what counts.

Ys, but the history of the band is more vital in this case, so instead of 4 people we should have all seven of them.

I like your concept(skull) but ...that liking R&R since'' is not sharp enough..it doesnt flow...teenage lust forever fits better maybe..we really have to think about the text on the shirt...very proud &brave text..is in need.Or funny nasty.

Ablett I think a lot of people loved your design that you started. I certainly did. Please continue to work on it, i think it would be great!

And thanks Kent for supporting my cherry red suggestion! I think it would be a great idea! Nice change from black or white.

Go Ablett Go !!

I vote for the Rockman photo. It's great and it's very RnR.

Personally I would not wear a shirt that had a "fake" tongue on it. I have made fun of other people for doing that, it looks cheap, and makes the wearer look like a bozo.

Speaking of the tongue......I've noticed t-shirts with the exact RS tongue logo...but flipped horizontally...on t-shirts at SEARS?!!? Can this be legal? It was on toddler shirts. It's common to see it flipped horizontally (lower tongue pointing to the right)....on website, unofficial t-shirts etc...but it looks lame when it's backwards.

Unless somebody out here owns the right to that photo and wants to give permission to use it, it's a no go!

Ok, I'll have another go soon and take it from there.
I'm thinking of adding two guitars, and some small emblems significant to the Stones. I also fancy the idea of a famous lyric line in latin....
Any other suggestions?
