From the front page:
It's Only Rock'n Roll - © 1980-2006; The Rolling Stones Fan Club Of Europe

Then just: www.IORR.org
Stones-fans in Exile

No tongue (they're extremely strict and they have the right to. They own the design.) No photo. It just gets messy and unclear, old fashioned and flashy. Less is more. Let's not look like clowns.

Actually, Bjørnulf is the owner of this site. If he wants to, he can just decide whatever design he wants. I have no problem with that. In fact, that would assure us we get something that's got a certain design-quality.

The "Of Europe" part is no longer on the front page of the website.

It is actually, at the very bottom underneath the photo of the band.

Actually, yes.

"nice try" -- what the hell does that mean? A condescending remark or what?

Tim,....I was playing along with your joke about including the word "plexiglass" on the shirt. I realize now that without seeing my smiling face you could easily think I was making a condescending remark.......my bag.

I haven't read all of the posts on this thread..but maybe the shirt should look like EVENT STAFF or EVENT SECURITY...so we can all meet back stage...and eject all of the "extras" ffrom the front rows.

Just some official info:

The web site URL (address) is www.iorr.org
Or short like this: iorr.org
The http:// is old fashioned and not needed.
The official name of IORR is: The Rolling Stones Fan Club
Technically IORR is based in Norway, Europe,
but as 65% of all members, both the magazine subscribers
as well as the internet visitors, are outside Europe,
the "of Europe" part is historic and not really valid anymore.
IORR is truely world wide and not European anymore,
and a T-shirt should say "... Fan Club" but not "of Europe".

The tongue is copyrighted. The Stones have dozens of lawyers
who make their living from closing down web sites, stores and anyone else who try to make profit of the tongue. IORR is the world's by far largest fan club of RS, with half a million visitors every month, doing several million page views monthly. They are watching IORR every day, looking for illegal downloads of music, illegal use of the tongue and so on. They hate IORR because I publish tour dates and optonal 2nd show dates long time before they go on sale. They have a love/hate relation to IORR. They need the publicity but they hate not being able to control the information. A PR office nightmare. So I will not give them the pleasure of seeing any approval of using any trade mark items or other public items under legal control. Smaller we sites may do anything they want, but they know IORR is on TOP 10 on Google and most other web site search engines. That is something I know and they know. Just Google The Rolling Stones.

The T-shirt design should be smashing, unique but not offending. People all ages, all religions and all cultures should be able to wear it. It takes a little fantasy and some smartness, but I am sure it is possible. I know more or less how it should look like, but I don't have the time or design skills to do it. This is how it should look like:

Version A:
For those who just want to show the IORR relation to people when they are in a bar or next bseat at a show or more or less face to face. The Lacoste version. Small print on the front top left side, logo etc. Not important but it will be made.

Version B:
The real T-shirt Mick, Keith and Ronnie will see from the stage. The one you will see from a distance. Simple message. You are a Stones fan. IORR. And a great logo with both Mick, Keith, Ronnie and Charlie. Or none of them. The illustration is the only one that is tricky. Great still not offending to anyone. I need samples and suggestions.

Colors: Important, but may be defined when the text and graphics are done.

PS. Any reference to ABB might be great. I just replaced my mobile (cell) phone (cell), and also replaced my ringtone for many many years from PIB into RJ. It felt refreshing and right for 2007. May be something from ABB might be used on the T-shirt. I don't listen much to the lyrics so I don't have any good ideas, but I am sure there is something as good as IORR but I like it... May be for the back of the T-shirt, or for the front.

Thanks!

Bjornulf

So bv, are you saying it would be ok to use a photograph of the band?

Re: The official IORR T-shirt

I prefer the Stones of today rather than use a photo from the old days or used the names etc of the other Stones.

>> who would be number 8 please? Stu? <<

sorry for the delay Beelyboy - i was offline. yes, of course Stu.
and i wouldn't say that "the Stones don't count him" - he was one of the original Stones,
and i've never heard any of them try to deny it. have you??

No problem to use a photo of the band, as long as it is one I have the copyright to, i.e. it is not taken by a pro, but it is taken by someone who donates it to IORR, and that is not difficult. But... I think it should be one color only print. Not to be cheap, but for the simplicity. And because nearsighted Ronnie as well as Mick and Keith should spot it easily. A photo is normally boring. A drawing or an image or something with one color only stands out, easy to spot, easy to recognise once you have seen it one time. Something very rock'n'roll. Something very Stones. I don't know how it looks like, but I will know when I do see it.

I really like the idea - Version A (from BV)
And the one Mack Jigger made (with 1972 Mick on front)
Nice topic by the way!

Yes, it's just below Bobby Keys!

Yes, I saw that.
But it has been removed from the top of the page, where it used to be for several years.

Take your time to come up with the right one. This is something that should not or does not have to be rushed. Everyone post ideas, likes, dislikes, and alterations. In the end maybe a great design will emerge.

I like this t-shirt but maybe have it say, "It's Only Rock and Roll... but WE like it".

Simple. What about grey t-shirts? Black on grey?

Long sleeves? I thought you would prefer arm-less. And by armless, I mean without Luciana's arms.

Wasn't looking too good, but I was feeling real well.

yeah, i know the story pretty well, Beelyboy. Stu "not fitting the picture" doesn't mean
he wasn't one of the Rolling Stones. the photo you posted is by Philip Townsend -
that photo shoot was arranged by Andrew, who was already actively honing the band's image;
it doesn't mean Stu wasn't a Stone before the decision that six was too many.
anyway the early history of the band is a great subject, but this is not exactly the right thread for it,
don't you think? at least it wasn't my intention to highjack this thread;
i only meant to point out in passing that there have been eight Rolling Stones.

apologies for the digression, everybody. on with the tshirts.
