The Small Faces (with Marriott, Mac, Kenney, and Rick Wills filling in for Ronnie Lane) had reunited and recorded two albums: "Playmates" in 1977 and "'78 In The Shade" the following year.

There's some good stuff there, especially the second album.

I always thought Jagger's description was a little condescending.

I got this album a while back. The whole thing is great. Latley Ive been listening to Debris A lot. I consider it my favorite song at the moment. From other posts I see that its Ronnie Lane singing lead? The part where Rod Stewart Harmonizes really does touch the heart strings. Its such a soothing song.

I love the Faces. its like having the stones with a more soulful singer (sorry mick). Debris has such a beautiful guitar and vocal sound. Oh La La, Cindy. I made a mixed cd with faces tunes and some from Ronnies solos albums- Sweet Baby Mine from Now look really fits in well with the faces. another beautiful and underrated tune.

I remember breaking out my faces discs when I heard Ronnie Lane died.

A couple of days ago, I started a thread (which soon died) about Ronnie Wood's bass playing on the Jeff Beck Group's Truth and Beck-Ola.

While I have been a Faces fan for roughly 30 years, I had never heard these. I had heard of them.

I highly recommend them (especially Truth) for all Rod/Faces/Stones fans. You can really hear the roots of the future Faces.

Best album The Stones never made!
