You might find Shepards Bush Empire on there (though the Euro/UK 99 shows were not actually part of the No Security tour) or Sacremento. Both of those are pretty good.
We got Shine a Light in Anaheim...along with Some Girls, Memory Motel, You Got the Silver and When the Whip Comes Down...great tour i thought...loved the simple stage...no glitz, just great music.
As an example of Mick's poor singing of this tour, get a boot of Vegas '97. Listen to Mick on SFTD,OOC,SOM. COmpare those 3 songs to Vegas '99 NS tour. Mick is awful vocally. He was like this at most shows. I stick to what I wrote initially. NO emotion in the vocals. I thimk his voice was strained from being on the road so long. His worst singing of any tour.

so did Ronnie
Shows I saw in Hartford were both very good despite that. Keith was still on great form - he needed to be as they were never more a one-guitar band than they were on that particular trek
First of the 'millionaires watching millionaires' tours, but even though they were obviously targetting a difference audience than before, as it was still pre-40 Licks, they still believed that the audiences knew a bit of their back catalogue and dusted out a pretty superb range of long-lost or never-played songs.
They were a bit knackered by the time they got to Europe, though - especially the 2nd Wembley gig. Shepherds Bush was a great night however, with Ronnie somehow rejuvenated in front of his friends and family. And 'Moon is Up', far from being a 'trainwreck', absolutely smoked.
NO SECURITY was the only tour that I didn't see (...going all the way back to 1969!). This was strictly for financial reasons, as the tour came so soon after the previous tour. Only around a year or so later, if I remember. Which tour was it that came right before no security? Was it VL?
I loved that tour. Saw them in Anahiem the same night Bobby Troup passed away, they played a dedication of Route 66 for him on the b stage that was oh so pretty.
Get hip to this Kindly Tip - Buy No Security & crank up "Thief in the Night" Man I hope Keith will bring it back next tour.

wow - i had such a great time at that show, why was it bad?

also, wasn't wasn't that the debut of Brand New Car too?

Luckily I went to both of those shows, though regret not travelling further to Oakland, considering the reviews.
What were the Euro/UK shows called if not No Security?

Yeah that Oakland show is still probably my greatest Stones moment. From the fact they opened on the west coast, to the the fact,it is the only show in my life that I have been in the front row. I actually got front row seats,at the box office, the day tickets went on sale. Then the setlist. Which included,Moonlight Mile,Some Girls,Undercover, and for the first time(for me)You Got The Silver. Up until the encore of Sympathy, and Midnight. A very special show.

I was out in Oakland visiting my brother and went to opening night with him. After all the above tunes (plus "Shine A Light" and "Route 66" and "Just Want To Make Love To You" on the b-stage) I'll always remember them being offstage prior to the encore and then hearing Jagger's harp wailing away against the roaring crowd--we knew it was "Rambler" before the rest of the band even came back out. Remember also that the song hadn't been performed in the States since '89, so the thrill and anticipation was so high..."Rambler" and "Sympathy" (with brass) made a great one-two encore--too bad they didn't stick with that format.

I disagree. They had already begun digging into the catalog by the time of NS (but continued it brilliantly on that tour). On B2B they pulled out "Sister Morphine", "All About You", "Wanna Hold You", "She's A Rainbow", "Crazy Mama", "Respectable", "When The Whip Comes Down", etc.

No..Brand New Car was played several times on the early part of the Voodoo Lounge tour
Didnt say Wembley #2 was a 'bad' show, but having been to all 5 UK shows that week, they just seemed pretty tired by the time that one cane around. The show the night before was really good,as were the rest of the UK gigs!
I saw them in Boston twice at the Fleet Center (I think) and it was great. Midnight Rambler (especially) and Memory Hotel were the highlights (of course). Googoo Dolls were good as well. Had a nice time in Boston and it was my first "small" venue.
I "thought" the tour sucked. Back then I was a casual RS fan fresh off an all-time hight after seeing my first show - the Columbus, OH show during the B2B tour. We got tix to see them in Cleveland and I was so disappointed with all the filler! I mean what's this crap Some Girls? and Memory Motel? You Got The Silver? Route 66. Where was You Can't Always Get What You Want? What about Satisfaction? and Miss You? Arghh . . .
Fast forward a couple of years when I finally decided to really devote some time to the entire Rolling Stones catalogue. Awesome!
I finally found a copy of that same Cleveland show on DAD a couple months ago and downloaded it. Wow! I could have kicked my own arse. The Cleveland No Security show was quite possibly the best Stones show I have ever seen. I only wish I knew it then.
I saw both shows in Hartford and thought they were really good. Some Girls, You Got The Silver, Route 66, Get Off Of My Cloud, I Got The Blues, etc... And it was the first time I met Gazza!
