RollingTbilisiStones,

Do you have to write that (not U.S.A.) each time you tell people where you are from? Serious question.

Hey Winter--it's all good, no problem, glad you are enjoying DC, watch the summers though; literally one of the most humid places I have ever been in. But, if you are from NC my guess is that you are well acquainted with that kind of climate. Also, happy that you took my post in the proper spirit, cause after I re-read it, I thought I could/should have expressed myself a bit better.

And, yes the photos are awesome.

Hey Sweet Neo Con! The bar in the picture is Lafitte's Blacksmith Shop, not to be confused with Cafe Lafitte's in Exile which is just down the street. The Blacksmith Shop is on the corner of Bourbon and St. Philip. It's the only bar on Bourbon St. I'd recommend to anyone. The rest are rather touristy and pricey. Visit the other places off Bourbon.
The major music clubs are House of Blues in the French Quarter, Tipitina's in Uptown, and Snug Harbor and Cafe Brasil on Frenchmen St. in the Faubourg Marigny. Keith and Charlie visited Cafe Brasil during the VL tour.
The station for local music is 90.7FM and can be streamed at WWOZ.org. You can find entertainment listings at bestofneworleans.com and bigeasy.com.
If you find yourself out late at night, I'd highly recommend calling United Cab (504)522-9771 to get back to your hotel.
I hope this helps. I'll be with family in Atlanta next week, but if you have a question, e-mail me. My addy is listed on this site.

Probably because both former Soviet Union (O.S.S?)
and the US each has, both, a state called Georgia.

US' Georgia has a town called Athens; but I reckon
they havent any Tblisi. But who knows.

Anyway - one of the coolest place names I know
is Tallahassee....
