Listenin & watchin' Kim Larsen (from Gasolin´) in his monster hit This is My Life (originally recorded with session musicians in Tennessee; but this seems to be a recent Danish version by the 61 years old rock veteran).
(Back to old faves) Lee Dorsey - Yes We Can Can ('93 expanded, especially 'On Your Way Down' covered by Little Feat, & 'As Quiet as Its Kept') John Cale - Paris 1919 (expanded Rhino ed. w/ Lowell George ripping it up on alternate 'Macbeth') & "Island Years" Funkadelic - the expanded debut, & 'One Nation Under a Groove' Birds - A Guide To Rare English Birds (Deram) Lyres - the remasters & "Some Lyres"
Jimi introduced to the USA by Brian, what a moment! Brian 2 years left (Jimi 3 years, 3 months), still the quintessential popstar, at Montery w/perfect 'date' Nico (VU&N had just come out that April)...Baboon Bro not familiar w/ version of 'Dirty Old Town' you mention, but love Rod's, from his solo debut (Ron on bass & gtr)... Just played, Hendrix - "South Saturn Delta" CD, version of 'All Along the Watchtower' with Brian on congas, & lots of killer stuff both w/ the Experience ('Look Over Yonder' just blasts into the Stratosphere) & later ('Midnight Lightning' among other superb tracks)...speaking of Strawberry Alarm Clock, when I was 8 some friend's mom gave me the drummer's autographed glossy, which didnt inspire me to ever get the lp but I do recall he played barefoot. also: Standells' "Try It" ('Barracuda' way cooler than the Heart song with same title, 'Riot On Sunset Strip' etc)
