July20th started out like any other day, but turned out to be a truly sad day ... heres is an article that I found on the internet about my fathers accident, Im so proud of him I wanted to share it with you all.. he was a hero, he saved my mom heres the linkwww.local6.com/news/95534...taf=orlpn#
When I lay him to rest Wed he once got a pick from Keith in Pittsburgh in 2003.. It will be placed in his hands, Im also working on a cd for the funeral services, Im looking for ideas on material, Im thinking so far like wildhorses, as tears go by, slipping away, If you have any ideas on sonds that would be fitting please let me know Im trying to get enough to make a full cdr I know there are songs im forgetting so any help would be so appricated.
My condolations, stoneslicks. The link doesn't work, but it must be awful to lose your father. I can't even imagine what that must be like. It is a beautiful idea to place the pick in his hands. Also, you should consider Heart Of Stone as music.
Sorry to hear this. I think you're honouring you're father in a great way. I bet he'd be proud of you if he knew all the things you're doing. - Mick Jagger's Angel In My Heart - Out Of Tears - Time Waits For No One
I'm so sorry to hear about your dad, I can identitfy, my dad passed away at 49 years old. I like the idea of making the ceremony special by playing his favorite music. I like all of the ideas already expressed . How about adding a live version of " As Tears Go By" from this tour, mabe even the version they did at Radio City in March.
Anyone witnessing Tiger Woods' outpouring of his emotions yesterday, after winning the British Open Golf Championship, will understand what it is like to lose a parent. The lad just opened up his heart, even though it is several months since his dad passed away.
Now a great Stones fan has passed on and the best you can do for your dad at this stage is to make the musical tribute as fitting and appropriate as possible. Personally, I'd go for Wild Horses.
thats sad news to lose you dad ..god bless him...i think you should pick the songs that you think are right ...i lost my son this year , and we had a non religious funeral..it was very well done..2 stones songs were played for mike his faves..because of my sons death i cant go to twicks..just to painful..as mike at me attentend the licks show at twicks in 2003...but i have my memorys, and so will you..i hope all goes well and take care
Loss of your father is sad, I feel your pain Stoneslicks. Not appropriate for a funeral, but PAINT IT BLACK talks about death.
I see a line of cars and they're all painted black With flowers and my love both never to come back I see people turn their heads and quickly look away Like a new born baby it just happens ev'ry day
This, IMO, is describing a procession of black funeral cars, complete with flowers and a loved one, surrounded by grieving people who can't bare to view the dead, it's a powerful image. The last line is about birth, that it happens every day, which implies that death happens every day as well, turning our black world of death into a renewed hope for the joy of life. Hope this helps.
sad to hear that ,my best wishes to you and your family and everybody who knows him
----------------------------------------------------- Oh, give me the beat, boys, and free my soul I wanna get lost in your rock and roll and drift away

ahhh sad sad news .... but very nice idea for tribute i want the same thing done when i go...
the songs you have above are great, also dont forget to add Shine a Light and Thats How Strong my Love is, maybe..
Sorry to hear about your situation - I know the feeling all too well... The first song that came to mind was MOONLIGHT MILE. Not that the words fit exactly but I think the prettiness and mood of the song is perfect for what you need. It's always been one of my favorites so I hope it works for you....Stay Strong...All the Best....MB
the numbers you've chosen are beautiful of course - maybe Keith's How I Wish and Key to the Highway (on the Johnnie Johnson album) would also be fittin ...
