I read an interview with the Strokes and they said something like that what Bon Jovi said.
i also find it a bit embarassing: the dyed hair, the silly promotion for the On Stage seats...
But I have to admit that the Glimmer Twins are still cooler than any member of the Strokes or Bon Jovi.

Isn't this the same Bon Jovi that had Ed The Sock on stage singing with them and insulting everything about them in front of their faces!?!?

A pale, commercial, imitation of rock and roll IMHO.

I guess the second missing part of what Bon Jovi was to say would be "We are calling it quits!"

I've got the 3 first ones on CD + GimmeSomeNeck on LP too,
but I suppose the sound is remastered on the Japaneese versions ?

He is just a jealous pet, he smashed Axl and GNR a while back because Axl got more attention for his 13 years of silence than Bon Jovi with his girlie crap.

I usually don't like to hate on bands, but I must admit that Bon Jovi is about as lame as you get. I own one cd of theirs and it's horrible. Richie Sambora is about as goofy as they come. And that new country single they have is super super cheesy. He has no room to talk. In fact, I'm somewhat insulted he would say that. I thought he was a decent guy. He just lost all of my respect.

I can't believe that BJ still sell records.

What a pathetic dipshit! He sucks and always has and always will. Pretty boy corporate rock...yuck!
And he just doesn't get it. Like it has been said so many times before...no one complained that Muddy should stop playing and like Keith said, he will go out riffing! GOOD!

BJ needs a BJ

Well their music is enjoyable on a car radio... some of it anyway.

He says he wants to quit before BJ turns into a nostalgia act or something like that. But he shouldn't forget, it already is a nostalgia act. They're already in a stage where their audiance does not know the newer tunes and is only waiting for Living on a prayer. There is also a lot of posing going on. Once they get over their complex that they're not large enough for a bigger stage, they'll go shopping at Mark Fisher's too. Should raise their ticketprices to be able to afford it though.

Some of my cousins and their friends packed together and went to see BJ last week or so here in Holland. I'm positive that that's not because of the musical innovation but because they were, as many others, huge fans by the end of the 1980's/early 1990's. Their presence there was definately motivated by teenage memories and connotations. Well I like to watch the A-team on occasion, it doesn't mean that's quality though. BJ visitors are just as much legend-watchers as the majority of a Stones concert's audiance.

By the way, reading those quotes I don't think JBJ bashes the Stones for being ridiculous. What he says shows some admiration so far as that he thinks HE won't be that fit and capable at 62 (ergo should stop earlier).

Why do you think only 16 year olds love Bon Jovi? Because he make childish music.

Bon Jovi are shithouse.

When you're barely a footnote in the history of rock'n'roll after a twenty-odd year career, I guess it must be extra frustrating when someone twenty year older than you are still much, much, much more popular than you.

So I guess I sort of can relate, but who cares? Bon Jovi calling the Stones old is like an ant calling an elephant small. They'll still play better at 100 than Joviboy at 25.

A true story - unlike most I tell.

On my first date with my wife to be, I took her to see The Stones (told ya I was a hell of a catch, apologies to "Biggest Mistake). She had just been to see Bon Jovi, very hot at the time (1989). She was going on and on about Jon, Richie, etc. After the show, I asked her what she thought about Bon Jovi after seeing The Stones. She said, "Bon Jovi are a bunch of babies"! I knew then that she was the one. We've been happily married for 2 years now, 13 all together! winking smiley
