This is getting too pessimistic guys.
Yes, Keith's accident was potentially very serious, and yes there can be complications. But..from the information we have [and it's all we have] , Keith has not had "brain surgery" he has undergone a delicate but fairly simple and routine procedure to release a little trapped blood ... which only becomes a problem if it ISN'T removed. For goodness sake, the ancient Chinese, Celts and Romans routinely performed this operation ![and the patients recovered quite happily ;^) ]
I'm not wanting to trivialise Keith's worrying predicament..but let's not get things out of proportion.

Did they ever cancelled/postpone an American tour??

I just found out recently that A friend of mine had this procedure done when he was 2 years old. it was also from a fall. it was really risky because of his age, but hes fine now.

I understand people are frustrated and upset. But now it is time to look forward, put the frustrations behind us, and wish Keith all the best and a great and fast recovery. No more "I go mad" posts from now on please. Thank you!

Just try to understand the things I have written below the word "victim".

The sad thing is that nobody (including me) would have any regrets
or anger if it was a natural cause leading to the tour postponement.
Charlie´s cancer is natural. Nobody would ever blame him if he stopped
or cancelled a tour. If Keith got a disease of any kind - natural.

But falling off a tree is bloody physics! Damn.

a Stones show without Keith would reduce them, even tho Charlie and Ronnie are still there, to a pathetic Las Vegas cabaret band-the "Mick Jagger band" with Chuck on keyboards-if this is the end, and I really don't want that, lets have a bit of dignity and respect for what they've been-the shows should be cancelled rather than go ahead and ruin people's memories of them. On a brighter note let's hope Keith's ok which is more important than any rock n roll band, and who knows maybe he will be there when the tour evenually starts

yes riffbuk, you finally broke the code.

they start their tours rehearsing in canada or ny state or massachusetts
where there are no palm trees. they know what they're doing...keith has a long term palm tree problem but they can't keep it a secret anymore.
...it was a conspiracy to just give the states, south america and asia ABB shows, and burn their bridges with all of their beloved Europe and UK fans.

...because mick has enough money now...in fact, knowingly leaving Keith on Fiji was part of the sinister plot...it would only be a matter of time...
clever rascals...
yeh you got burned alright. plus keith lives in connecticut; get it?
no palm trees. and it's the states... clearly part of the grand plot.

ohmygoodness i understand the frustration...
this is pretty cool and nice and wonderful talented writer and artist under a lot of physical stress right now...
so let's not make this a really knuckledrag international incident.
outside of the racketeer government and white house...
we don't have a monopoly on morons here, proved by many a poster from wherever...
and u'd have to complain about south america and asia too...

whatever it was...palm tree or whatever induced...he had a bad day...and it kept getting worse...it's got to be about the love now.

I don't think Keith need a message from his parents about not being able to show up in time. There was an accident and that's it. The tour has been delayed and that's it. We are all frustrated but there is nothing we can do about it. By mid June hopefully they are back in action. Give Keith time to rest rather than blaming him for living.

Well put, BV!
Let's give this a rest now and look forward. No one thinks it's great to may have to change plans etc., but it's (probably) the fact, and we just have to adjust as one do with so many other things in life. It's not ideal, but Keith's not in a very ideal situation either. We just have to respect how things are, and wish Keith all the best!

If you think it is great fun to have your scull drilled then I am sure Keith would love to have you taking his position right now. I am sure he would much rather be sitting under the coconut tree in Fiji, or actually resting at home in Connecticut. He did not do this on purpose.

An accident is an accident. Come on! it can happen to anyone, most accidents happen in strange situations. Keith's recovery is the only important thing.
Far more important than the implication that some tourdates might be cancelled.

This is the Hand of Fate at work..........it's just one of those things, but I still keep reading about how it will affect the fans and the tour. I understand the concerns but............let's just wish Keith a speedy recovery and worry about the tour when he is well, ok? smiling smiley

nikkibong I can understand how worried you must be at the moment.

The not knowing if your dates are cancelled.

Been there last tour but we just decided paid for flights and accom so we would go anyway and enjoy the holiday if concert did not go ahead.

This time so far we are looking like it will be ok as cannot go to any concerts before end of July but things can change in the blink of an eye.

I dont blame keef for wanting to enjoy his time off.

People moaning about a 62yo climbing a tree worry me somewhat.

I for one hope when I am 62 I can climb trees.

I hope I will still have a sense of fun and adventure that makes me want to do silly things on the spur of the moment.

Be well keef.

Even if the rest of the tour is cancelled I cannot blame you, I knew booking flights in Dec was a risk but it was one I was prepared to take to get good prices .

Maybe that is so simple for you...but it´s not for everyone here.

the tour is not cancelled but just postponed, so maybe 3 or 4 shows will be postponed...... the important thing is that Keith is well and he will be on stage this summer!!

It is tough being a superfan. Most people go to one show only, in their own city. They don't book the metro ticket in advance. May be they book a hotel if they are out of town but most people travel less than one hour to the shows. When we plan travels to Stones shows we have to understand things may change.

Time for the stones to treat those fans with a little respect too

Absolutley: hope Keith recovers real quick.

This should squash any hope of them returning to the U.S in the Fall he will need the rest after Europe. I am pissed though 62 and climbing trees whats up with that. The only reason I would climb a tree would be if there was a Lion chasing me.

Bjornulf,

Is there any chance that Brusells or Paris #1 will go on as planned? There's no way in hell I can make it to rescheduled shows . . .
