@Kent
Agree. Lego is so much fun. Sadly I can only play with it when I'm with my 7 year old nephew. I would still climb up coconut trees though.

Yeah. Who wouldn't. Climbing trees is great fun if you're into it.

MaxM; I'm exactly the age Elvis was when he passed away - 42.
I have become scared of heights since my heydays.
And I feel like Keef looks in the Sun-pictures in the mornings.
But we have a nice high Bird Cherry Tree. I think I may take
a climbing there today... ;o)

Of course you are allowed, but if you take important decisions such as planning a tour (and getting the ilusions and money of others), you should be able to take other important decisions, such as not behaving in such a manner.

I was up in a big three with a chainsaw last week. I did not fall down but I was close to cutting off the main power line going into the house. Well I never thought once about falling down and missing any shows. You only live one time and you have to use every day maximum. I would much rather have Keith climbing trees than sittig in a rock chair.

Hi Beelyboy !!
No harm done for us missunderstanding each other, and yes we are on the only possible side...The Rolling Stones, and humour is always wellcome!!about the postponent of the tour, well even if I miss Spain I allways can see them in my own country,Portugal, on the 12 of August...Hopefully. As long Keith is recovering , then its OK!

I prefer Keith playing loud and near me but, if I have to talk with him or have a drink, of course I prefer to do that on a palm tree than on a wheel chair. The problem is that doing that we get more chances of cancelling our world tours. Anyway, nothing can be done, so we just have to continue with our lives, wishing that the problem will not get worse and so we will be able to enjoy the show asap. And I insist, let's hope Keith will be soon again our favourite rocker (although as a it happens with couples, I'm angry with him and will tell him that in the shows).

i respectfully disagree- and i suspect Mick Jagger would, as well.
He's 62- Keith's loved and respected the world over- i don't want him falling out of trees looking for coconuts... it's not the 'tough rock and roll attitude' that has become his trademark- it's just a little bit sad and pathetic and leaves him open to ridicule.
But maybe, as someone who has been looking forward and excited to Barcelona for 6 months- my judgement is clouded and i'm completely wrong.

Some people keep on complaining how the Stones' shows are just as commercialized as any other and how obviously everything is about money. And then you have Keef doing something natural and spontaneous as climbing a tree, and some see it as an irrational stupidity. So you'd like him to be spontaneous only when he's onstage?

The tour will start in Bergen? what do you think?

Nah...I think we're looking mid-June, with maybe some of the shows due for around that time being rescheduled.

Just a personal hunch, though. I've no more of a clue than anyone else

i reckon that's the best case scenario Gazza... i wouldn't be suprised if they rescheduled the whole tour till 2007

Mid June - it'll be a gamble for me to see any show even if I have tickets for 4 shows. Hope they will announce the dates soon. Due to logistic reasons I cannot imagine that they would change around a lot around June/July - I guess there is more time for Spain at the beginning of August, right?

Within a week? Or is this too optimistic?

He need a couple of weeks for rehabilitation. And I suppose the band will have a week or to with rehearsals before they start Europe. Do they in fact rehears a new set of songs before they enter Europe? If so, I think mid-June/late-june.

Probably, but some July shows might get moved for logistical reasons, stadium availability etc.

In 2003, they spent 2-3 days rehearsing before starting the European leg. A couple of different songs were played in Europe, that hadn't been played elesewhere that tour.

I'd like to think we'll get at least some of the rescheduled dates by then, simply because the vagueness of the press release doesnt indicate how many shows are affected. At the moment we only know the first two are off.

Its even more important if the changes mean that shows that wouldnt have been postponed due to Keith's injury but because of logistics (ie other dates being moved due to stadium availability) are being affected as well. In other words, even if they were to start the tour in (say for the sake of argument) mid-June, its still possible that shows scheduled for AFTER that start date may have to be changed - so its not just the people who were going to the shows postponed prior to the new start date who may be affected.

You hope they will start in Bergen, and so do I. I've got front-row tickets for that show. But I think the show will be postponed.

Yeah, I see - that's why I thought they would rather not change too much in the itinerary once they started the tour, to avoid a complete mess with stadium bookings and logistic issues. There is still some place for shows end of July/early August. On the other hand, some of the field shows might get replaced - or some of the slow selling German shows? (more a rethoric question)

According to the Portuguese promoter in the newspapers this morning, the concert in Porto its still up for the 12 of August!!
Any ideas when will be show the new dates

Re: European tour postponed!

I think its possible that they could move some of the 'field' shows to later in the tour as theres less a problem in using the venues around September as there would be with some of the football stadiums

I'd doubt theyd cancel any of the shows due to poor sales. I know they did that in 1998 and 1990 (although they dressed them up officially as for logistical reasons') for a few shows that bombed during the World Cup but sales for those particular shows tended to be very low compared to the ones for this year that have sold relatively slowly. Nothing would surprise me though, in all honesty but I'd hope this isnt the case.
