Party Time - which album?
Posted by: Markdog ()

Your at a party and it's your turn to pick an album or even just one song. The crowd is mixed so you want to appeal to as many as possible (or you don't get another turn). You could even turn some people on to the Stones if you make a good pick.

Remeber is a party not a bunch of stoners hanging out. (that makes a big difference!)

Which album do you crank up?

Which song do you crank up? (if that's all you get)

I've played so much Stones at my parties, that I have to find something really obscure bootlegCD, when my friends are here. They expect that. All of my friends, did NOT like the Stones, before they met me. But now most of them, have all their officials. "Some Girls" is a good choice, I agree.
But if you got a DVD player, put on Hampton 81!

Is this about the single Eddie Murphy put out? "My girl likes to party all the time, party all the time"

If I had to pick up just one song, it would definitely be...DANCE PART. 1!!!

Depending upon where you want the party to go, Get Yer Ya Ya's Out always works if you're looking for creating some higher energy.

Stripped is great, not a bad track on it and alot of good sing-alongs...

The problem with Sticky Fingers is you have songs like "sister morphine", "moonlight mile", "i've got the blues", etc. which are not necessarily party songs...

Let it Bleed ain't bad for a party either, but I'd still go with a great live album like Ya-Yas, Stripped, Flashpoint, Love You Live... any of those.

"It's just that demon life has got me in it's sway..."

I agree that Dance Pt. 1 is probably one of the best. I rediscovered this song during the licks tour and since then have played it at every party i've hosted, and, unlike when I put on brown sugar or HTW etc, no-one, not even non-stones fans complains or gives me that 'oh no not the bloody stones again' look.

The fact that it is unknown to many casual fans helps.

Also Miss you. I was at a very cool club in brixton not long ago and this came on, and everyone loved it. There is nothing worse than when the dancefloor empties to the sound of the rolling stones, it's almost embarrassing.
