i really feel rough justice suffers from bad lyrics/vocals as well, but is still a rocking song. oh no not you again is hardly a lyrical masterpiece but it isn't killed by the vocals.
in my opinion flip the switch suffers from bad lyrics and delivery, i didn't know keith wrote the lyrics though, a rare strike against him.

I actually think Jagger's vocal is spot-on on FTS, whereas I don't like his delivery on either of the mentioned rockers in ABB....

Flip the Switch is way too slow live.

ONNYA, RJ & then FTS...like the new stuff better (most of it)....

FLIP THE SWITCH is much better as a song and performance than the rockers on ABB. It has crisper sounding classic Charlie drums, a bit funkier bass that still cooks, guitarists in a rejuvenated prime, and far more interesting layering of vocals.

Flip The Switch is a filler IMO, especially as an album song. ONNYA is much better on record (captured more of the live feeling!)

>> the lyrics are kind of a joke <<

they are hilarious! a death-row character waiting for his big trip -
and he's even got himself a little shaving kit?! i love it.
i never knew Keith wrote the lyrics, so ...
thank you Gazza ~ thank you Rockman ~ thank you Keith!
"three black eyes" - LoFL! go baby go. :E

"What do you want - what?!"

Good signature riff. Keith filling the song with a constant flow of licks.

Flip The Switch, Rough Justice, and Oh No Not You Again are all great, rocking songs. I don't want to over analyze them...I enjoy them, they rock, end of story.

Haha well I mean to me all of those songs are good songs. I guess my opinion on them though is that all of them work better in the studio than live.

actually your point is a reasonable one, deuce. To quote Keith from many years back, "rock'n'roll is from the waist down" (might not be an accurate quote - but close enuff)

So I just downloaded the NS version and prefer it to the studio version. Guitar is up front and I like the bass + drum groove. I would prefer B2B w/o it though--I always skip it.

Good idea! By the way, I would love that they rediscover some stuff from the 90ies. From "Urban Jungle" on, they played the new material mostly just on the tour to the album but not on the others. Look at Sad Sad Sad (I know they played it two times on Licks), Terrifying, Mixed Emotions, I Go Wild, Love Is Strong (a few times on BTB and ABcool smiley, Out Of Tears, Flip The Switch, Out Of Control (why stopped they playing it after 14 shows on ABcool smiley, Saint Of Me, Don't Stop...
