richter, you are god! Let us dirty little rats know more about your incredible genius, and especially about what exactly you are smoking! Thanks in advance.
The fight is between him and me, not between me and him. Apperently he has something to loose or to proof, as he keeps a close eye on whatever I write, and atacks it without even properly reading it. He (or she for that matter) is part of these psychotic American fans worshipping anything concerning the Stones, whom normally plague other message boards.
Sounds like D Major to me too, in fact Keith isn't even playing the whole E-minor chord during the chorus. Best I can hear at this point is that he's playing two notes from the E minor (E and G 3rd and forth strings) right before a suspended and then Major D using only two strings from that whole chord (1st and 2nd). He does the same thing over the G using the sixth and 4th strings. It's trademark Keith in it's early form. In fact I'm not so sure that that's ALL he plays (the suspended then Major D on 1st and 3rd strings) with one guitar, the 'whole' chords are played underneath that with another. But I think it's the way I described. Anybody that can hang with this, wow,.....LOL I guess I'm just 'guitarded' (thanks Roy).
I ain't stupid, I'm just guitarded.

"D7 doesn't even come close to the right sound... I always thought it was D-minor. " come on rutger you must have some musical ear, of course it is not a D minor, that must be a print mistake on your behalf. it is major cord ( dur, not moll ) but what we are discussing is weather it is a seventh or not, ie d major with a c note added. I for one wound say it does not matter, this part of the song is in G, having the D7th in the "chord faminly" but in my mind this is a small issue,
Rank outsider there is more to the stones than keith, so what he does or doesnt not play does not tell everything on chord structures of stones songs, ronnie playes chords, keybord plays chords, even the horns can play cord notes, the backupsigners can sing in chords. so it is the overall chordical sound that we are discussing
but the start of the discussion was the A 9nt, which i would like to hear your comment on, not on less important side matters! best
ok it is obvious u are not up to some positive discussions. just when u see the opp to critizise someth that is not by the holy stones book, u jump on it, ( and then u critizise others for being negative...!)
learned musicians have to get support from books, natual musicians can trust their ears
Richter, thanks for the guitar lesson but I have been playing for 30 years and know my way around the fret board and have made ample use of the A9 chord where it suits the song. The point of my response (Sorry that I thought you were German but with a nom de plume like Richter it was the first thing that occured to me!) was to ask what your point was. From waht I cna see now it seesm that you wanted to introduce us to the A9 chord.
