Just got this video in the mail. The footage shows the Stones & Hendrix backstage in MSG 1969. Hendrix and Keith are talking about there mutual 'girlfriend' (Linda). But during the Jam between Taylor & Hendrix there is no sound! Does anybody knows if this footage is available with the sound during that bit? Such a shame!

Is the "Linda" by chance Linda Keith, who while KR's GF during the summer of 66, 'discovered' Hendrix at the Cafe Wha in NYC? Linda brought A. Oldham to see Jimi, but AOL expressed no interest,- Chas Chandler of course did. The Stones also hooked Jimi up w/ Olympic Studios & engineer Eddie Kramer, who'd work w/ Jimi through the rest of his life. Lots of cool RS/JH connections.

Yes it is. Hendrix is almost afraid to ask Keith: 'Did you see Linda lately?'

Are you sure Linda first asked Andrew and he expressed no interest, I didn't know that

When asked who was the greatest guitar player he had ever played with, Mick Taylor said "Jimi Hendrix".

Would this be outtakes from Gimme Shelter? I wonder why the Maysles brothers didn't include footage of Hendrix since they were there filming?

Apparently the Maysles did have problems with the audio - that's why it's unfortunately silent. I don't think there is any audio available as it was never recorded sad smiley
