As a fan of Bad Company, I probably wouldn't put them in over Free or Mott The Hoople. I think the others were more influential and lasting, but that's not meant as a knock to Company. They obviously had some big hits (Can't Get Enough, Shooting Star, Feel Like Makin Love) and those first two albums are pretty top notch. And as always, compared to who's gotten in already, yes I'd put them in. But in a real hall that doesn't feel as tainted, they wouldn't break my "very good" meter, whereas the Hall should have an "excellent" meter. I wouldn't say Hoople or Free get there either, but I could make more of an argument for them than Company. Maybe I'm being too harsh on the one I love. There's no one like Rodgers.

I don't understand something, is the vote just a "suggestion"? How is it that Phish doesn't get in, and White Stripes do if it's based on the vote?

That explains rap, country and whatever other. Perhaps the original name was intended just for rock & roll and there should be a Music HOF. There is the Country Music HOF, appropriately in Nashville.
