I have been processing this sad news over the weekend and since my previous comments, it feels like I have lost a distant relative who I have never met.

The comments on this board seem to echo this.

Rare i come on here these days but still like to keep an eye on info.
Just wanted to pay my respects to a very knowledgeable chap in Gazza.
years ago i remember having a few friendly toodos with him and as ronnie says about Keith.. he's very rarely wrong.
a poignant pic earlier.. gazza and Charlie together.. hopefully they're having another natter and a pint somewhere out there.
R.I.P pal, i hope everyday is concert gold circle day wherever you may be.

This is just the worst possible news...the passing of one of the sweetest men that ever graced this site...The photo of him from Glasgow 2006 shows he loved the Stones t-shirt I sent to him from my home in Massachusetts after attending the Radio City Robin Hood Benefit Show. ( March 2006). Although we never met in person we kept in touch through social media & emails...he was one of a kind with a huge heart and empathy for those he cared about. My most sincere condolences go out to his family & friends. He is simply not replaceable. Rest in Peace, Gary. I hope you are in the company of those musicians you most admired who passed before you.

Still reeling from the horrible news of Gary's passing. It must be true that the good die young...he is simply not replaceable. Life is cruel...such an understatement. He will never be forgotten here on IORR and across Stones World. Rest in perfect peace, Gary. You've left us all heartbroken.

An obituary has been posted. We should all raise a glass in Gary’s memory on Friday and play something he loved … real loud!

GALBRAITH, Gary Thomas June 6th 2024, suddenly at home, Loving husband and soulmate of Heather, devoted son of Ethel and the late Joe, much loved brother of Alyson, brother-in-law of Joe, son-in-law of Billy and Molly and adored uncle of Daniel and Cameron.

A graveside service will be held in Roselawn Cemetery on Friday 14th June at 11.00 a.m., followed by a Service of Celebration for his life in Bloomfield Presbyterian Church at 12.00 noon.

Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu if desired paid directly to Marie Curie Cancer Care, 60 Knock Road, Belfast, BT5 6LQ or online at www.mariecurie.org.uk/donate

Always loved and remembered by all the family circle. No farewells were spoken, no time to say good-bye, you were gone before we knew, and only God knows why.

Many years ago I posted that I had been at the concert at the El Mocambo. Gazza posted "You're a 'jammy' bastard, Marmalade!" I didn't know what 'jammy' meant. Asked him, and he said "Jammy means lucky - or it can mean full of jam (as in marmalade), the pun was deliberate". Good one!

Terrible news. RIP Gazza.
An incredibly knowledgeable music fan, a true Stones fan.
Met him in person only once in 2007 at the Pilot Inn before O2 arena Stones appearance but we talked several times online.
Condolences to his wife, family and friends.

The good thing about this sad thing is that God has a plan for all of us. For our time here on earth and beyond. One of the plans is to put us together with the people we should meet,be friend with, should love, marry. God is putting together bands. He always did that.
Bands that can perform all what life offers together. Who help to handle life. And its a huge amount of work for God and staff. Sometimes God fails. But most of the time he does great work, creating fantastic love driven bands. Like the band Gazza was in. His family, his friends, his work mates, us - all members of the band God placed Gazza. So yes we here were an part of this band. Forever. Because God hates to create things twice he just keeps those bands, gathering all new entries knocking on heavens door strictly in their bands. So Gazza sure already met his friends, the beloved relatives and loves he lost during his lifetime. Just laughing and talking with some of them right now. And of course meet IORR‘er who left us in the recent time, discussing music and Stones with Hairball may be in the next minutes. And one day with us of course. When our time has come. Because We are in God’s Gazza-band. And he is in ours. So no worries. We and him will meet. And perform.
Great Time Is On Our side.

That's so sad, just reading this now. I've recently been indulging his RocksOff setlists for a personal project, was going to get in touch with him. I would bump into him over the years, was always good to say hello.

Wow - it's less often that these threads grab my attention these days, but this is right up there.

RIP Gazza, and condolences to your family. Let these pages tell them that Gary was much loved and very well respected in the Stones community.
