Very saddened by this news. Loved Gazza.
He is one of the very first personalities I met in the early days of the Net and Stones community. When all of the sudden all the Stonesfreaks from all over the globe started getting in touch.
I had been going on about Taylor's great Les Paul sound in the solo of "Dance Little Sister"; when this Gazza guy tells me "Uh, pretty sure that was a Strat". But not so politely. Gazza knew it all.

I think I post a lot, but it paled in comparison to him. He’ll be missed in the stones super fan world

So sad

Those of us who “knew” him or actually knew him can believe that SSoH is dedicated to him tonight.

Don’t think I knew him. Figured by the Linfield FC comment he was a blue. I am a red (Cliftonville). Complete rivals from Belfast. But but best of luck to you mate.RIP

As we get older many of us will pass away. I overcame a ministroke 4 years ago. I thought my time was close.

The Rolling Stones are the band I love and have seen over 250 times.

If by chance I die during one of their tours, I will die doing what I love the most.

My hope is the good memories will out way the others.

Nothing makes it easier except knowing you are living your life the way they would want you to.

This is such a cold shower. So sad, so unexpected.

For me there were two posters (besides bv) that were absolutely essential to this forum - with sssoul and Gazza, Both gone now. I have never personally met neither of them, but looking at the posted photos, they both went too soon.

They were both very kind and helpful to me - sssoul sent me the Keith's Winos Boston DVD, Gazza was very helpful to me when I was getting into Springsteen's music some 15 years ago, he even sent me a DVD of the 2009 Vienna show that I attended. We exchanged some nice e-mails.

He was a fan I always hoped I would meet some day, now I know I never will.

I am sure he is in a better place now, yet he will be missed here. RIP Gazza.

Very sorry to hear this news. On IORR and on Springsteen forums, when you saw 'Posted by:Gazza' you knew you were about to read an authoritative take on things from a grown-up. No snarky stuff, no ridicule, just common sense and in- depth knowledge. I will miss him for that. My best wises to his loved ones and those who knew him personally

Also Deltics (1956-2020) who provided a lot of infos, e.g. about the RS discography.

I have been away from the Stones boards for many years, but I remember Gazza very well. I love people who have a true passion for music and he definitely had it. Seemed like a top bloke as well. Rest in peace Gazza and good luck to his lost ones.

Oh no confused smiley
I suddenly hate my isolated life while in Japan …
How come I missed Hairball’s passing away? I was just hoping to meet him at one of the California concerts. Terrible.
Also Gazza was such a reliable commentator on so many Stones related issues.
In the Netherlands recently a huge Stones fan named Gerry Schouten stepped out at 56.

From a troubled mind, RIP to you all.

O my goodness how sad. Not another one from the IORR community ? So many wonderful and fond memories, but especially the pre-show meetings/gatherings at the Pilot Inn in North Greenwich before they played several consecutive nights at the O2 Arena.

For me, someone who is mostly a lurker on here, I only "knew" Gazza via text but his opinion I always enjoyed reading.
To those who knew him personally, I offer my sincere condolences. It sounds like he was a wonderful human. What a loss...

Gazza was indeed appreciated.
If not mistaken, he decided to stay away from IORR.org for quite a long time. As a result, many posted to ask him to return, which he did. It speaks volume.
