If you had to choose an artist after the Stones who would it be?
For me it's Lou Reed

Love to see Ween on there! They were supposed to play Nashville on 4/20 but cancelled. What is your favorite Ween album?

I am equally glad to see another Ween supporter. The Stones have always been my favorite band, but IMO it is only at times I'd call their inspiration 'genius'.
Ween, to me is straight up genius. I think every one of their albums has been my favorite once. "the Mollusk'' think 'Quebec' is pretty commercial, and has many of their best songs.

Of currently active artists (thus excluding Bowie, etc.): Jack White, the Hives, and the Kills.

Of course there is no one. How can be?

Them and Dylan. No feel or need to follow anyone else. Thank god - that's more than enough.

Surely I like so much many different things - but that's a different thing.

Agree on this. After the Stones, Van and Dylan are all I own and really need.

Of course I listen to a lot of other bands/artists but usually just a song or two at a time. A recent playlist on YouTube included David Gray, The Romantics, A.A. Bondy, Bruce Cockburn, The Supremes, Joe Jackson, The Grateful Dead, The Jam, and Supergrass. I am not a big fan of any of them – in fact, if you were to drag me to a Grateful Dead concert I would consider it extreme torture – but they all have at least one song I dig (‘Friend of the Devil’ in the case of GD) and played consecutively it makes for a better listening experience than spinning Hackney Diamonds (IMHO).

I'm in good company with Doxa and and Swayed 1967. Always felt this way, and no one else
has come along.

Oh I thought this was going to be a thread about who you’re gonna go see live once they finally stop performing. I’m so happy they’re still touring. I’m trying to see all the greats before they pack it in. One wonders who’s gonna pick up the torch? Can’t say I’m a huge fan of too many of the more modern acts that are big enough to hold a stadiums’ attention. For my money nobody does that better than Mick Jagger!
