All tracks from that 10" have already been available on one disc... well, at least for a short time:

They could have at least made the gatefold in silver foil, that would have hyped me to buy it. I love this album too. Oh well.

Some time ago someone here who seemed to have some insider info alluded to a possible release of outtakes.

Anybody?

It looks like there will be another deluxe re-edition this year, the album is not known yet but Mick has been working on several outtakes in the past months.

40x5 has been handling the same information for weeks and already published it on their Instagram account several weeks ago.

We can only wait for more information.

I don't believe Soldatti's post above refers to the vinyl reissue of VOODDO LOUNGE with a bonus EP of non-LP B-sides. I do believe Soldatti's post refers to the long-planned package of outtakes from 1989 - 1997 that has been floated for the past 25 years as a possible project by Don Was. I do believe that is what Mick was finally finishing up lyrics/vocals for earlier this year. Time Will Tell.

Can't see what kind of "story" they can build around a release like this...it's not like there are any "nuggets" either ("Honest Man" maybe ?) unless there's something that hasn't leaked yet ? Lots of good songs of course but of interest to die-hards who would already have them anyway and even casual fans can stream FFSO on YT. There's a reason why this wasn't released back in 1999 as "Memory Hotel". IMHO abandoned songs like this only make sense as part of a "Deluxe" to generate some extra interest, not as a standalone release. Especially when Mick kept boasting about HD2 being 2/3 (or 75%) done.

Wow. What a nothing release. There's three, maybe four good songs on VL. I never listen to it. I'll remain happy that El Mocambo and Hackney Diamonds were released in 2023. An embarrassment of riches.

I think this release is geared towards those who got into the Stones as their first album. Or, maybe this was their first Stones concert. They still had a good groove back in 94 & 95 even though they had to overcome a few obstacles.

I just don't find this release as appealing to the older fans who saw this release as the Vegas years.

Back then every tour was going to be the last one.

Back when? I missed those announcements.

Me too..same age as well .

A potential Knebworth release is one that's tantalised many of us for years.

Hope we get it one day .

Edited to add..

Don't see why not . Plenty of bits and bobs have surfaced with half decent quality.

[Many used to say that there weren't good enough recordings surviving of El Mocambo to do much with ...but that turned out ok.]

It is a shambolic performance so its main appeal would be a DVD release. But didn't Gazza mention here that it was only partly filmed?

Yeah we don't know for sure what exists. I always thought that the Texas 1978 show was incomplete and would never get a release but it turned out it was complete.

Someone on here said the Paris 1976 didn't go forwards because of a licensing squabble with the estate of Freddie Hausser.

An edited or truncated version could be good, as there are several excellently performed numbers.

Strongly agreed ....and it would be much more interesting than yet more live stuff from the "modern era" tours ..which we've been almost swamped with over the last 3 or 4 years.

Shambolic? It's a fantastic performance! In my opinion one of the few really good performances of 1976.

I would take Köln (afternoon gig) over this one.
And overall I don't think 76 produced any memorable performances. The much-touted Paris ones leave me "meh".

I like the first two Frankfurt shows, and some of the last shows on the tour are nice, like Nice and Barcelona. The rest of the tour is just really lackluster in my opinion.

The circulating video (50 mins or so) was 'appropriated' from raw news footage filmed by the BBC and stored in their vaults.

Whether the Stones had the full show filmed themselves or not is the question. However, they did release video footage of 'Wild Horses'(which is included in the BBC footage) in 2009 so it's possible.

There is a second and shorter reel (about ten minutes) which circulates in lesser quality - so who knows, the full show might have been filmed.

They always seem stuck on releasing complete shows. I would settle for the best of Paris '76, and Knebworth.

Imho the Sept.7 show is very decent. I hope the band had all the 4 gigs recorded with the Mobile not just the last night.

i suspect there's probably box sets worth of recorded shows from 69-78 that they have

but they really don't seem to like releasing live shows without video

el mocambo being the glorious exception to the rule

El Mocambo, Leeds 71, Roundhouse 71 (incomplete), Brussels 73, LA 75 (different show than video release), Wembley 82, Live in England 65, NYC 69 (Missing tracks from Ya-Ya's, different shows than video release), Live at the BBC and Toronto 2005 are the archival releases without video available so far If I didn't miss one.

I feel like with the videos, I throw it in once, skip around a bit and then never watch the video again. I like with the last couple releases they have had a CD only option.

good point but most of those we're not released by themselves but in deluxe album box sets or digitally or by abcko

even la 75 was released with video from one of the shows and there is video of wembley 82 they just chose not to release it with it

maybe my point should have been that they don't usually release audio only concerts except when packaged with something else

hey maybe we could get a super deluxe live at the marquee re-release with leeds and the complete roundhouse show

and i'd love toronto 2005 to get a proper physical release too
