I would love to hear a 1972 live show Doesn’t the Lord of Rings director have some technology he uses to enhance old live recordings?
Someone posted here fairly recently about an aborted plan to release the Philadelphia show.
I agree with you, but in my opinion there are a lot more people who would like to hear material with Taylor than we thinkQuote

I would love to hear another official release from the 1972 tour.
There is a limited number of us who would pay for this, and Mick and Keith could probably care less if there was a release.
At this point in their life, it is the new material that keeps them in the headlines. Releases from the past seem to fade quickly after release.
I hate to say or even think this, but it will probably be after one of their passing that this stuff will show up.
One just has to look at Michael Jackson. Prince, Hendrix, or others to see how the music that was overlooked or unreleased to see what happens.
Sorry if this offends anyone but I think this is rational.

On the other hand, Dylan continually releases box sets with unreleased material, combining them with his new albums, without any problem...
The 1974 Live Recordings CD Box Set (27 CDs !!!!)

Can you imagine what a similar box would be like with all the soundboarding recordings from the '72 tour?

Do the Stones have an "official" archivist type person on board? From the outside looking in it appears that no one is driving this plane (see what I did there).
Their unreleased live and studio cuts are worth many multi millions if done right. Over time the estates will benefit hugely from a proper archive management and releases.

The interest of the Mick Taylor era - they need to stop screwing around and release whatever unreleased live and studio material there is from 1971-1974 because the people that are interested are not going to be interested for much longer if nothing happens sooner than later.
They're not Elvis.

I don't think so. It seems they've contracted "experts" to look through tapes and have used Don Was in the past.

I’d be happy with 50th anniversary of IORR mixed by Giles Martín. Think he did a great job on GHS and include the proper speed Fingerprint File

If there is finally a Deluxe this year, what would be the deadline by which something would be known?

I can't remember how far in advance any of the others were "announced". 3 months? There's four months left of 2024. If they do it seems it will be geared towards late November. You know, that ridiculous mentality of Christmas shopping season or whatever people call it.

So if there was any chance they would release a Deluxe in November, we should know something by September.

Hey man, it's just a guess since Sept 1 is the beginning of meteorological fall for the Northern hemisphere and the last quarter of the year. I'm sure Ronnie will babble blab something soon - he usually does when he's not painting, beating up some girlfriend, sitting in with whoever or in rehab (was going through the chronicle of 2008-2011 last night - he was out of his mind - it's amazing he didn't get fired).

What SSRI are you on, or are you suffering from autism ? The crux of the Mick Taylor era is not about Taylor's playing with the Stones only, but what Taylor played between ca 1967 and the mid 9-tees.The Stones made Taylor famous. That's all. Try to see the bigger picture if you can

If you want to know my opinion: I think it will not be this year.
