OT : Flying Burrito Bros - Altamont performance
Posted by: Esky ()

Hi all,

Can someone confirm that the FBB performance of "Six Days On The Road" from the Gimme Shelter movie is in fact dubbed from their album "Hot Burrito" ?

To me it sounds identical...

What makes it more interesting is that I have a Flying Burrito Bros live CDr with a bonus track of "Six Days" and it sounds quite rough - and I'm sure I can hear Sam Cutler in the background.....??!!!

I haven't heard about the album "Hot Burrito"? The albums I have are:

The Gilded Palace Of Sin
Burrito De Luxe
Dim Light Thick Smoke And Loud, Loud Music (compilation with unreleased songs)
The Best Of The Flying Burrito Brothers

There are two songs named "Hot Burrito" though; Hot Burrito #1 and Hot Burrito #2. (#1 is truly one of the all time greatest rock ballads ever written!).

hey Mack Jigger/Adrian - converted the song to mp3.
There is definately Sam Cutler talking about a baby born and it sounds like a radio broadcaster...?

Now who do I send the file to ?? e-mail address ??

you don't need to give the email address, Esky - leave it blank or give yours.
Just choose the file you want to upload and when it's finished you get a link - just post this link here smiling smiley

>> I haven't heard about the album "Hot Burrito"? <<
[www.amazon.com]

it worked, Esky - thanks & congratulations on your newfound uploading skills.
i'm not sure if that's the Altamont/Gimme Shelter rendition, but if it is,
i'd say it wasn't "dubbed from the album", but rather the other way around.

Hot Burrito #1, is generally accepted as being the better of the two-indeed it's an all time classic, but HB #2, shouldn't be overlooked,
(i love the lyrics):-

yes, you loved me and you sold my clothes
I love you but that's the way that it goes
so it goes, yes, you know how I feel
so it goes, it just couldn't be real
and we know it's wrong
and I don't think it's gonna go on
when I come home carrying my shoes
I've been waiting to tell you some news
and you want me home all night
and you don't want another fight
but you better love, find some love
you better love me, Jesus Christ
yes, you loved me and you sold all my clothes
I love you, baby, but that's the way that it goes
so it goes, I guess you know how I feel
so it goes, yes, it couldn't be real
and you want me home all night
you just don't want another fight
but you better love, find some love
love me baby, Jesus Christ
