I love HD but I am really struggling with Get Close. It's just not doing anything for me and I'm finding myself skipping this track more often than not. You can't win them all and maybe it will click further down the line.

Not sure but they do seem to have dug out effects that they hadn't used in decades ! Same on WWW that has this flanger sounding effect.

I wouldn't want to spoil the fun but to call that guitar bit of Get Close a riff seems a bit far fetched to me.

...such a funky groove way down in the bottom.... Stones ...

It's a great song.

currently this is my favourite track on the album

I am thinking it probably is an MXR Phase 100. Andrew Watt seems to have gone to great lengths to provide the band with vintage vibe and gear. He found a Dan Armstrong lucite for Keith to use so I wouldn’t be surprised if he also made this phaser available for them and maybe encouraged it. Good call back sound but still fresh.

The Phase 100 is a little unique to most phasers in that it is a 10 stage sweep whereas the famed Phase 90 is only 4. The signal patch seems longer a la Phase 100 to my ears.

I love love love this track. Great groove, love the sax solo!

I always meant to get the Phase 100. I have the 90. It works.

That aside, why would Andrew Watt bring that in when Keith has been using it since 1977 for SOME GIRLS?

I think you have a point. It`s very loud. It`s very demanding. It`s very brash. There`s a lot of treble. I`ve never heard anything like it, especially not from The Stones. You have to register all the details. If not, it can be a bit too much. It`s a fan`s song, probably never to be played live.

This is a great song, and in my mind one of the tracks that could easily have been a single.

Look what you've done to me. I don't know why I stick around. Answers just won't do.

In my opinion Get Close is one of the best track of the album.
That's pure Stones. I don't like Mess It Up much, it's to poppy.
Also Depended On You, Whole Wide World and Driving Me Too Hard are excellent songs
