Have the Stones over-thought this entire thing? As someone already said, no one outside of the U.K will get the Hackney reference so it's a very forgettable title, IMO. Maybe if we could look at all of the song titles it would make better sense..or not. I'm just thrilled there's new material about to be released so I guess the title doesn't matter all that much.

The area of London just North of Hackney is called... wait for it..... CLAPTON!

So the whole album is a sort of tribute to their old mate Eric!

I like the idea of diamonds referring to The Stones themselves. The cut diamonds, they'll still be diamonds. Like the Stones, over the years: Brian, Bill, Mick T and Chariie are diamonds that were cut off for various reasons. The diamonds that remain are still shining and a result of all the former pieces.

They have a photo of the Hackney Empire as their Instagram logo. And all the the people that hackneydiamonds2023 are following are the different accounts of the Rolling Stones band.
It’s not too far fetched to imagine the Rolling Stones are currently rehearsing to play the whole album live at the Hackney Empire in September. Three Nights, to be live streamed all over the world, and professionally filmed…. obviously that’s all just rather a nice fantasy!

It still might not be a legit account, but we'll find out soon enough.

The mere mention of Mare Street in the marketing is an obvious clue, of course.
