October almost seems too soon. I would think a single sometime in September to be followed by the album in November.

Sounds about right, and I think georgelicks also mentioned November as the goal, but maybe they've decided to do a "rush" release in October?
There will undoubtedly be much more details within the next few days, and maybe even the next few hours as the news continues to spread like wildfire around the world.
As far as I know there's only been one official site mentioning the news as previously posted by MAF. > The Rolling Stones Tease New Album Potentially Called "Hackney Diamonds"
Looking forward to many more sources, including Billboard, Mojo, NME, Rolling Stone, Ultimate Classic Rock, etc., along with all the major newspapers.

The new album IS called Hackney Diamonds. I was told this last month by an industry insider but was sworn to secrecy. I was also told it would be released in September.

October doesn't necessarily mean early October…

This is true, and according to what Valeswood was told, it could actually be released as early as September - see his post above.

Well that's exciting and the title is rather cool/intriguing, have they found their mojo back after decades of lackluster inspiration ?

Surely someone at UMG must have leaked that ad in the Hackney paper ;-)

Can't wait! The single in September, and October 20 is a likely album release date. Funny concept and fresh artwork. thumbs up

Well, the guerrilla ad itself does say "opening" in September.

Has someone in the UK tried calling the number?

Tried it, very cool. A cockney voice essentially reads out the advert verbatim, sends you to the website to sign up then bids you goodbye. It’s very comical.

I kind of like the title (but am trying to ignore that Hackney has been hipster-central for a decade or more now, and is regularly mocked as being the epicentre of the worst kind of millennial!)

Did someone say something about Mare st?

Hackney Empire is a theatre on Mare Street, in Hackney in the London Borough of Hackney. Originally designed by Frank Matcham it was built in 1901 as a music hall, and expanded in 2001. Described by The Guardian as ‘the most beautiful theatre in London’ it is an Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation.

I love the idea of a London-centric album.

They need something else. "Best since Exile" were Dirty Work and A Bigger Bang.

I know some people have been posting some art/graphics from Hackney Diamonds, but where did they find that? Was it from the rapidly-pulled artist's site?

Re: Hackney Diamonds

I saw a few messages discovering in the web domain or in the legal terms of the website the Universal's name.

Nobody noted the tongue over the i?

I mean, there's no doubt that this has to do with them. In case anyone doubted it.

Compare the tongue on the website-logo and the pic that leaked. It has the exact same cracks etc. Seems to be related/the real deal.
