The Rolling Stones' sound with Ollie Brown was very cool on the 1975-1976 tours.

Very funky! A little bit SANTANA Style!

At the time they sounded great with some help from Ollie and Billy. Ronnie and Keith were on top, only Mick was in his screaming, shouting and barking years, sometimes he overdid it a bit, especially in 75, during 76 he sounded better again. The LA concerts are my fav ones, though.

Ollie accented Charlie's drumming with very unique results. Utilizing The Steel Association on tour was part of the same thinking. Ollie having a full kit as percussionist was a change from working with (the real) Rocky Dijon or Ray Cooper who stuck with conga drums. Likewise, the minimalist approach of Michael Shrieve or Mike Carabello (both from Santana) on EMOTIONAL RESCUE or TATTOO YOU. Sly Dunbar's programmed percussion and drum tracks on UNDERCOVER were the only other time there was such a tremendous deviation to the band's sound until the two tours with Steve Jordan after Charlie passed away.

But "very unique": never knew there were grades or percentages of "unique" since "unique" literally means of in itself with no other.

But, you know, DIRTY WORK.

I donĀ“t like it. Just a mess live. The empty canvas that Keith and Charlie is supposed to paint their masterpiece on, is also filled with his doodles...all over...

Thank you for pointing out my egregious error. My only explanation for this unforgivable oversight was that I was preoccupied completing an online preorder for an item with no release date on Amazon.

COOL! Have they at least given the new album a title then?

Wow, sounds funky, sort of like "Off The Wall", with that 'other' MJ!

Funny you should say that since the album contains an update of "State of Shock."

But wait! Loopy Dupa (or whatever her name is) is beatboxing. And Stevie Wonder plays maracas. And Pull McOckov (credit to Ray Davies for that joke) is on bass. Ringo is playing tambourine. Honest!

Yeah yeah...the guitars players look damaged, they been outcasts all their lives. I know, I've heard it all before.

Just keeping you on your toes. Horrific, I know. Trooper, trouper: extremely important details.

On another note, I'm constantly in preorder... it's always fun waiting for the day of the order/release and when it shows up. I think I've even preordered after the fact.

Not sure what that would be called.

There are not two drummers on BAB. Ollie only plays percussion on a few tracks, and more sparsely at that than on the 75/76-tours.
