No problem. This info was pulled from a Bruce Springsteen forum (of all places) so would be grateful if anyone can ratify this info (BBC radio, BBC cricket live text feed on website etc.).

Apparently, Mick confirmed yesterday to BBC (at the cricket test match) that the Stones will be touring in 2024.
Edit: info taken from another forum, be grateful if anyone can ratify or confirm!

I'm sure that's the hope, just as it was to tour the US this year, but as we know those plans changed abruptly at the last moment before the announcement.

again with the narrative spinning: there was no announcement so there did not exist any last moment shortly before the announcement. hope is something very different from inhabiting a make-believe world

Wonder what Springsteen forum it might have been. Did a quick search on BTX, found nothing.

and to have a new album + a new tour would be the ultimate for the 60 and counting celebrations...

I am usually very much a Stones optimist, but the lack of rumors/leaks since February has me a bit concerned about future tours. It has been way too quiet, rumor wise.

Not spinning anything, just going off of what Bjornulf informed us all back in February, but maybe you missed all of this because you were banned at the time?
To fill you in what you evidently missed back then, everyone here was excitedly awaiting an official announcement scheduled for Friday, the 17th of February.
From Bjornulf back in February:
"They have reserved venues in North America from early June to early September this year".
Followed by this post from Bjornulf not long after, and just two days before the planned announcement:
"The Rolling Stones tour announcement, expected for Friday, has been cancelled.
The tour is planned for twelve shows in USA and two shows in Canada this summer.
There might be a rescheduling for the fall".
Then a few days later, this post from mpj200:
"It’s an injury boys. The healing time is uncertain due to age. But they are working on rescheduling.
Unfortunate timing. The band has worked very, very hard to get the album done. They will do everything they can to get this back on track".
As we now know, a rescheduled Fall tour for this year also never happened.
Will it eventually happen in 2024? There's always hope.

Well said Hairball. Balanced, logical, pragmatic and erudite as always. There have always been rumours, and I suspect there always will be. But when we strip away all the comments, hopes and optimistic postings, what we are left with is hope. Pure and simple. Nothing more. Nothing less.
My personal view is that it is most unlike Mick to speak about any Stones related activities in an off-the-cuff conversation with people in the media. Be they cricket commentators, sports journalists or indeed any journalists. He has always struck me as a man who uses official channels and formal press conferences/releases to communicate with the fans. He gets 10/10 from me in that. He is most certainly different to Keith and Ronnie, both of whom are prone to over-optimistic statements that - all too frequently, sadly - prove to be groundless.

What's Mick supposed to say? "No, we have no plans to tour"?

Nikkei, sorry, but what part of this do you not understand?
There was a tour planned for this summer, all ready to go, venues booked - but they had to scrap it at the last minute before it was supposed to be announced in February.
See the links to BV's posts I posted yesterday. Or the quotes in Hairball's post.
Now, I don't know how many people booked travel based on rumored dates, but booking cancellable hotel rooms with no prepayment is something that some people certainly did, including me. I did book a hotel in Edmonton. (In Seattle and Vancouver I wouldn't have had to.)
