It's refreshing to see that men in their 50's/60's can still behave like 8yo kids on Chrismas Day. "Bwah I didn't get my present on time!!"
This band definitely keeps us young!
Most stores in America are now franchised with the exception of establishments such as restaurants, auto and home repair services, etc... However, that is a good idea.

I read dandys post and thought How quaint, a local record store, I remember those. You could actually talk to people you didn't know, browse the bins and find stuff you forgot you were looking for.

I pre ordered several of the new GHS items on the 1st day of pre order...I just received an email telling me that due to 1 item(2lp alt cover,a rs.com exclusive)my order wont ship for 6 weeks...what a bunch of BS...glad I ordered most of the new stuff elsewhere...F rs.com....I wish the stones would get their heads OUT of their asses & start treating customers a little better...( yeah right,like thats gonna happen)

At this point, I would bet Amazon is sending out the same notices. Unless they are throwing their weight around and insisting the first orders go to them, and therefore the RS store cannot meet their own orders. But I doubt it.
Maybe they are pressing up the special mixes of Scarlet to include, for free, with the "special" editions, and thats taking extra time.

They have also still the Color-Vinyls of 'Living In A Ghost Town'.

I have never, ever, had a problem with ordering items from Rollingstones.com, and because I didn't order the GHS double vinyl from them, seems that positive trend will continue.
BUT, I did order the double vinyl from Udiscover.com (at a fantastic discounted price compared to every other site), and was given the bad news regarding delays.
I'm pretty sure they're affiliated with Rollingstones.com (they are from Universal Music and the delay emails were the same), but this being my first order from them kind of sucks.

But we are about 30 years too late for the USA, everything everywhere is pretty much the same McDonalds, Wal-Mart, Rite-Aid, Home Depot bs. And you better like what they carry because there will not be anything else, anywhere.
Thats why I rarely bother with in person shopping anymore, aside from food. And I don't even recall the last time I went into a real record store. Just aren't around anymore and when they are they want laughable prices for stuff. Still, the social contact is nice and I miss it.

There's several independent record stores where I live, and one of them has been around since 1967, so I guess I'm lucky to have those options.
And they keep each other in check as far as pricing goes, but sometimes the best deals are to be had online, and the low prices are hard to resist.
That said, had a great time during RSD lat week dropping a couple hundred to support my favorite record store, and that was just the first of three scheduled this year!
