I always thought Bobby was given the boot in 1973.
If I understand correctly, Bobby was dropped out after the champagne bath incident and bad influence on Keith. However, he was invited as a guest like in LA '75 and Hampton '81. He toured again as regular member starting in 1989.
I wonder what happened to Jim Price, the trumpet twin ?

Apparently only the last 3 L.A. shows.
Imo that was the result of the power struggle between Keith and Mick. Mick wanted to never work again with an unreliable junkie (who had failed them on the Euro'73 tour).
Keith in his "who the f@ck is Mick Jagger" mode considered Keys to be part of the band so he called him onstage every time the band hit California (in 75 78 and 81 where he basically joined the touring caravan after a cameo during the L.A. gig).
