The rock’n’roll legends secured the top spot as the top live band of the year in the United States, taking home $65 million for the year. They ranked seventh in royalties from sales, bolstered by the 2019 release of a new compilation, Honk. As one of the few bands on the list this year that owns its masters, the group enjoys a 74% cut of revenue generated by the songs the act recorded from the 1970s forward.

But..but.. how can this be from a band who's creative juices have dried up and with no new album??

A great reminder also why the interest is in touring, and not making records...

But what I find interesting is the following:

Although HONK surely was not any big seller, it is surprising that they gain more from streaming than of sales (surely most of streaming derives from HOT ROCKS monster hits, I believe). Anyway, their record company surely knows the source from where the money comes from now and more in future, and this goes along the campaign of how their new relaeses are promoted, taking more and more into consideration the online services. They simply need to. Money is there.
